Where in Australia are you?

Do you still want to use this venue or are you looking for another venue? If you are looking for another venue can you post a link to the one you like because that will help us aussie bees help you find another location that is similar but maybe cheaper.

If you are still planning to use the same venue have you checked what they will allow in terms of outside vendors and decorations?

My biggest cheapie tip os to have a look on your local councils website. A lot of councils own some really cool old/historic buildings which are usually very cheap to hire and allow you to bring in your own booze and catering whch will save you heaps. Also look at alternative catering. Ask a local restaurant or call your local Tafe and ask if they have a hospitality course ebcause they will usually do catering as part of the training package for students.

@MrsSmithToBee:  Is that the one in Rockie? Because I agree that is a beautiful venue. Have you talked to the council officer in charge about how they could work with your bidget? maybe by doing ot on a Friday afternoon or Sunday afternoon you might get a better deal?

Are there any venues at Mt Archer? You could even do an outside wedding there and then have the reception at a really nice restaurant. It would also mean that you have to keep the guest list small which might work for you since you really want to elope.

Honestly I would elope if both really want to. Let the FIL’s throw you a party when you get back!

Did you check out Glemore Homestead? I would imagine it is probably around the same price but you never know.

What about the caves they do weddings and receptions as well?
