Hi bees! I’m a little stuck and could use some input. I’ve found a venue that I really love – future hubs adores it, and so does my family. It’s outdoors, but has a tent and a great plan. It also has a strict 10PM curfew (noise ordinances) which means our ceremony and reception would have a 4P or 5P start time.
Here’s the thing: when I close my eyes and imagine getting married, I picture myself saying the vows – having the ceremony – at dusk(ish). I visualize great fading light, lots of candles, lanterns hanging in trees.
Obviously, starting the ceremony at 4PM (or even 5PM) is definitely not “dusk.” Not even close – even if we push the wedding back to October. I hit upon the brilliant plan of having the cocktail hour and some dancing *first, changing into my dress around 5:30, and then doing the ceremony around 6. Future hubs wasn’t a fan.
So…thoughts? Is it crazy that a time difference of two hours is throwing a wrench into my wedding day plans? Argh! 🙂
