As a follow-up to my post from yesterday, I’m wondering if anyone has been to Dreams Palm Beach specifically instead of the DR/Punta Cana in general.
If so–what were your thoughts on the resort? We upgraded to a preferred club suite, so we look forward to the upgrades in bar service, private pool, and beach beds. What did you think of the facilities? Beaches? Food? I didn’t realize until yesterday (dumb, I know) that it’s actually a third-world country and there were issues with water/seafood/meat/etc. I’ve read probably 200 reviews on tripadvisor, and maybe less than 10 of them talk about the food being not super, and even less than that mention getting sick. I am so worried about ice cubes/meat/other contaminants that could cause stomach upset on our honeymoon. This trip is super important as it’s the last one we’ll get to take before DH starts med school, and I don’t want ANYTHING to damper it.
Your opinions are more than welcome!

My FI and I stayed there last May (that’s where he proposed) & we loved the resort! We never got sick and ate pretty much everything. We were there for 10 nights so we got a chance to visit all of the restaurants which were wonderful! My favorite being the hibatchi! We drank the bottled water provided in the rooms and also brushed our teeth using the bottled water to be on the safe side and had no issues. We ate meat, fruit, salad and all. It truly is an awesome resort & we had a great time! We were in the preferred club side as well and there is a section on the beach that is roped off for that side. The drink cups were small so I suggest bringing a bubba keg so you don’t have to keep grabbing drinks. The pool was awesome, and the lobby bartenders were amazing! We booked some shore excursions through them and also walked a couple blocks to the local market to shop which was fun. The casino is small, but they also have a sports bar area to watch games and have drinks. You guys will have a wonderful time. PM me if you have any other questions! 🙂
