They definietly look like different colored dresses in those pictures...it looks almost gold (very pretty with your skin tone). i'm guessing your dress is the one on the right? I would take another picture in a well- lit room or with natural light to compare.
Not going to lie - those have to be different colors. On the bright side - I love the darker one on you better! I would have said that without reading the post.
It's really hard to tell, but I'm leaning more toward RK bridal making a mistake on the color of dress you tried on.
That is definitely an ivory color. But i'd check it in a better lighting, too.
However, you look slimmer in it!!!! I'd go with it, haha.
I'm thinking your original bridal salon made a mistake is color. That first photo of the dress looks diamond white or somewhere between white and ivory, and the dress you received is definitely ivory! It's really good that you still love the dress though and are excited about it, because for someone who really truly had her heart set on a white dress, that could be a real bummer. Are you okay with the color, I hope? Regardless, it still looks great on you!
Honestly, now that I've looked at the pics again I really do think the ivory looks much better on you color wise than the white anyhow. It could also be that the ivory dress fits you really well too, but it looks fantastic!
I agree that the darker color looks better on you. I think it's two different colors.
It's definitely an ivory color but I think it looks absolutely fabulous on you!
I agree with everyone...the dress is ivory, but it looks bettter that the white!
Personally, I would be upset, because I am not ok with wearing ivory. If ivory is what you wanted from the start anyway, though, don't sweat it. You look great!
I like the darker (ivory?) one a lot more than the white one. It looks great on you!! I do think that the orginal dress you tried on was white.
The colors might be different but honestly, it's hard to tell if it's the dress or the photos. It looks like the first photo was taken under bright fluorescents while the 2nd one is at home under normal bulbs. Even your skin looks tanner in the 2nd photo. Any way to get a photo under natural lights?
Either way though, the dress looks fantastic on you so I wouldn't worry about it.
The dresses definitely look like different colors, but I think the second one probably isn't as dark as it looks in the picture because it looks like the lighting is pretty dim in that one. Given that, I agree that the second one looks great on you regardless of the color.
I think the person at Rk Bridal was wrong when they told you that you had on an ivory dress, because that def. looks diamond white to me, and the other one you got looks ivory, but I agree the ivory one looks better on you. =]
They do definitely look like different colors. However, I agree with the other folks who said that the ivory color seems to be a more flattering color on you.
I think the first dress is white and the second is ivory. I really like the ivory though :)
My dress is diamond white and it looks like the exact same color of the dress that you have on in the picture on the left. I tried on the sample in Ivory and it is the same color that you have on in the right picture. If it makes you feel better the dress is absolutetly beautiful and looks amazing on you.
I agree with the others--it's a different color, but it suits you better. Win win.
I think something similar happened with me and my dress. The dress only comes in white and ivory from Davids Bridal but it looks really different now that I have it home. I wonder if it isn't from a different dye lot or just from being a sample that has been subject to sunlight, etc.
This is the "ivory" dress I tried on at Davids.
This is my dress with a very ivory shoe that I had to get:

Thanks guys - a least I'm not losing my mind! I definitely thought it looked darker than I remembered! I don't particularly care except that I told FI's aunt that my ivory dress was really pretty close to white, so the regular-white flower girl dresses she wanted to buy would be no problem. Oops!
We went with the white shirts from mens warehouse for the guys since I thought my dress was closer to that than their ivory. Do you think it's worth changing that? They'll have vests & ties on so I'm not sure how much white you'll actually see anyway.
I purchased ivory flower girl dresses for my dress. When I hold them up to my dress they are a bit more "ivory" but I think it looks better than the starke white.
However, the groomsmen are wearing regular white shirts because its easier and they will be wearing jackets so it won't REALLY matter.
Men's warehouse's "ivory" shirts are more like dingy faded yellow! My dress is ivory, and I was confused about wheter to get white or the nasty ivory shirts, but they showed me a much nicer ivory in the wing tip shirts and I was very happy with that. I think your dress might be too dark for white shirts. it's p to you though.
My entire wedding is black & white, all guys are wearing white ties, girls are wearing mostly black with a little white in them & my dress is ivory (an ivory that doesn't look white). If you don't mind, I wouldn't have anyone change things. If you care, you can ask if they can exchange the dresses/shirts but you have to make sure EVERYONE still has the tags on them so they can return them if needed.
Whether it was a mistake or not, the one on the right (I assume the dress you received) looks MUCH better with your skin tone!!! Its GOREGOUS!!!

This happened to me too. My dress has gold tones like yours though the one in the store didn't. I just think, at least in my case, its the same color with variation between fabric/dye. Our guys are wearing white shirts, and FI is wearing an ivory tie. The flower girls are wearing ivory dresses, but everything else (linens, etc.) is white. I honestly don't think most people notice!
it was a great mistake if it was one - the darker color looks wayyyy better :) and the white shirts for guys is fine. my dress is ivory and my FH is having a white shirt with champagne vest and tie.
They are different colors; don't worry, I think the deep ivory is very elegant and I love it on you.
By the way, I think it is just fine for you to stand out in ivory, and for the men's shirts and flower girls to be in white. I think it is better because the whites will match one another- while "ivory" comes in many shades (apparently ;) ).
personally i think you look better in the second dress even if it is ivory - i like the ivory! my dress is ivory also
I'm with the others! Go ivory! It's a gorgeous "mistake" and the dress is amazing on you!
Sometimes things like this were just supposed to happen! It goes so well w/your skin color!
Fwiw, I'm not going to be a white dress bride (if I can help it...am having to go off the rack)! These days white, ivory, or whatever is awesome!
@twalila doesn't men's warehouse have swatches or samples or anything you could get to match it with? If not I'd suggest taking a close up picture of the dress, but here's a trick. Take it with the dress tilted, lay it on a bed or something like that and take the photo at angle, it doesn't have to be major only a slight anlge should do it. That way the flash doesn't hit the material straight on and cause any kind of bounce back at the lens keep trying until you feel you get the best and most accurate image of the color of the dress then bring that with you to the store. It's a lot easier to work off a picture that's at least pretty close to the color than a memory for a match. Good luck.
I am thinking the same thing about my dress. It looked so much "brighter white" when I first tried it on and not so much now. But you know what, I love this more. Hopefully you will too. You look AMAZING!
I know it's not what you want to hear, but I do think they are different colors. I don't know how the bridal shop identified the first dress as "ivory." Are you okay with the color of dress you have? (For some brides, it's ultra-important that their dress be white.)

My dress came in last night (yay!!) and I still love it (yay!!) BUT - it's a lot more "ivory" than I remember...
A little background: I tried the dress on at a bridal shop in NYC but ordered online from Netbrides (saved 20% - woohoo!). I was told at the bridal shop the dress I tried on was ivory, and I thought it was great so that's what I ordered. The dress I received last night seems a lot deeper ivory than the one I tried one, so I'm wondering if the dress shop made a mistake when I asked? There's nothing I can do about it now of course, but what do you guys think? Same color in different lighting...or different color dresses?
FYI - Working with Netbrides was AWESOME!! The mistake (if there was one) was RK Bridal (who were a pain in the ass to deal with every single time!!)
