So I am in love with a Maggie Sottero Dress. It's the one called Beth. Is it appropriate to wear a dress with black lace on it? My colors are white, black, silver and pink and then I am doing accents in orange and apple green. My FI will be wearing a white tux with black pinstipes and the guys will wear black tuxes with black pinstripes. The bridesmaids will be wearing black strapless dresses. I want a really romantic feel to the whole wedding and reception so I thought about wrapping votives and vases in black and pink lace. What do you wonderful ladies think? I am going dress shopping tomorrow and would love all the advice I can get.

I think it's totally fine - I mean people are wearing all black dresses, red dresses, multicolor dresses LOL, so I don't think a little black lace is very out there at all! And I happen to know what dress the Beth is, and it is GORGEOUS!!!!! It was one of the ones I really wanted to try on, but couldn't find it anywhere. Frown Def. go for it!!!!

I am not usually a fan of color on dresses personally, but I tend to like black touches like a black sash.  I have never seen anything like this one with the black lace, but I think it is really pretty and unique!  You shoud definitely try it on!

Honestly the dress is STUNNING! BUT I’m not a fan of black lace on a wedding dress it reminds me sexy lingerie LOLOL! The more I look at the pic if the black lace would be only on the train then okay

Plus if I can give a little tip as a designer.. To much matching is not a good thing in my opinion!  You are the bride you are to STAND OUT :)

     I hope you don’t hate me! u asked for my honest opinion… : )

    Good luck

Have you seen the movie hangover? Anyway, I love that movie but I digress. The bride in that movie wore a dress that had a black sash and the wedding dress has been the talk of the town. So no, it won't be weird if your dress has some black (or other color) in it.

I think that's a beautiful dress!  If it looks great on you and you love it still then go for it!  I like to see unique dresses.

If you love the dress, that's all that matters.  It's very pretty.

I think black lace on a dress is fine if that's what you want.  Lot's of brides add color to their dresses.  Whatever works for you!

Black is fine on a dress. I am going with a Sophia Tolli Dress (Analisa) which has black toule covering the bodice and black flowers on the skirt. I love your dress and think it will be something that people will definately remember.

Beautiful!  I think it's totally appropriate, and will work wonders with your colour scheme!

Did anyone watch SYTTD - where the girl wanted a pink dress?  Now that was something I haven't seen yet!

I love that dress too!  I ended up never trying it on and finding something else but let me know if you like it when you get to try it on!

Beautiful gown! I think it is appropriate for your wedding. Like you mentioned, you will have to try it on to make sure it looks good on you.

Depending on your figure type and what the lace looks like on the front of the wedding gown... it may or maynot flatter your shape. Make sure to look at the dress when you try it on from all angles.

Because of the two-tone affect the black lace brings to the gown... the taller a bride is the better, in order to carry this style off.

I absolutely LOVE the dress! It was on Say Yes to the Dress and it looked gorgeous on the bride! It is your dress and you can wear whatever you want.

You know, I had feelings of hesitation when I read "with black lace," but when I saw the dress... wowza! That is one beautiful dress! But I'm with the hive, you've got to try it on and see if it makes you fly. If it's the one, wear it happily, 'cause it's beautiful.

Im not a huge fan of color on dresses either but that dress is gorgeous.  My SIL had a wedding dress with dark navy on it similar to this dress and it was beautiful.  I think it would go really well with the concept you have too.
