I went dress shopping the other day, but as many places tend to do these days I was prohibited from taking any pictures. With that being said, I’m very sorry but I really need opinions and advice on what to do. I first went shopping over a month ago at David’s Bridal and had a bad experience. I waited until this week to go again and I tried this little store that had a nice collection of plus size dresses for me to try on. My MOH went with me and since it was a slow night for them, we were allowed to go and pull some dresses ourselves. I was looking for a dress that had a few certain characteristics, but was open to beading (or anything sparkly), lace, sweetheart neckline, tulle, and a line because it is the most flattering look on me. I tried on many dresses that fit what I wanted, and I absolutely loved the defined waist I had when wearing any a line dresses with corset backs. Now, I am heavier and wear anywhere between a 20-24, but I do have a small natural waist. The corset a line dresses definitely played that up, and while they were beautiful, none of the dresses were quite right. Toward the end of the appointment, my MOH remembered there were two dresses that we liked but hadn’t pulled when we were in the racks, so she ran and got one of them for me. (The other one was waaay out of my price range!) I tried it on, and this dress was absolutely stunning! It is entirely made of tulle, but the 2nd layer of tulle is embellished with tiny sequins all over so it glitters whenever the light hits it. It has a sweetheart neckline, some detailing on the bodice, and lace on the bottom of the skirt. Basically it fits my dream dress vision exactly! Except for one thing…..it is a GIANT puffy ball gown! It is the perfect dress and I can’t stop thinking about it since I tried it on, but its so huge!! My waist looks tiny because of the corset back, and while I know my hips are making it pouf out, I wanted to feel womanly on my wedding day and not like a cupcake. I don’t know what to do! Should I keep shopping? Should I get it? Should I see if they can order it with fewer layers of tulle? I do have plenty of time to find a dress, but I know I will be heartbroken if I wait to order it and it goes out of stock. Please help!
Also, its very similar to this dress, but with lace and no belt. Can you see the amazing sparkle?!
