I took my dress off site, to a seamstress who specializes in dresses. While I love the bridal salon where I got my dress, I felt that the personal attention was better elsewhere. I'm spending approx $400 for the fittings / alterations.
I wanted to clarify real quick that the $400 I'm spending is for more than just alterations - she is also custom making my veil which is $180. So you should be able to find a seamstress for a lot less than what I posted. ![]()
i'm taking mine off-site to someone who specializes in evening gowns/bridal gowns, etc...

Do you guys do your wedding dress alteration at the place you buy it from or take it somewhere else? How much is the average cost for alteration?
The dress store called today to tell me that my dress is there. YAY! I am trying to decide if I should just pick it up and make my alterations (if necessary) somewhere else or get it done there.
