Hi All! I purchased a Watters dress at RK Bridal in NYC, but I need to get my alterations done here. Does anyone know of a seamstress they would highly reccommend? It is a very simple gown, so I am not too worried and I have a family friend waiting in the wings, but I would rather not put that pressure on her.
I actual bought my dress online, but i know from talking with other local brides that Ferry Formals in Schnectady is pretty much the best, bridal salon in the area. i would guess they offer alteration services as well.
Hey GMG, there are definitely mixed reviews about Ferri Formals, so I would do a little more research before going with them. I was going to buy my wedding dress there because it is the only place in the capital region that is authorized to sell Melissa Sweet, but I had a really bad experience with a couple of their service people and did not trust them to get my gown through. (I ended up having to go out to Rochester to get my Melissa Sweet!) Although I did not end up dealing with a seamstress at Ferri's, a wedding coordinator that I was interviewing for my wedding told me a horror story about a girl whose wedding she did that was having her alterations done by them. So please just be cautious.
