I am sure you can find a subtable seamstress to altar your dress. maybe by word of mouth – any friends or family friends in your area know of anyone?

There is a WONDERFUL altarations shop on the first floor of the Galleria, next to Neiman’s he’s been there forever.

Katy Custom Bridal. They do absolutely amazing work. And the prices are VERY good.

I went to Class Tailor & Alterations in Rice Village and they did a great job for a good price.

DO NOT go to Liz’s Tailor in Sugar Land. I took 3 (nonwedding) dresses there and they actually managed to make them worse than when I brought them there…and they smelled bad when I got them back.

I had my dress altered @ Carol’s on West Gray (near TJ Maxx and Mega Marshall’s).  I had a tank dress that had to have the shoulders taken in, the sides taken in, and the front hem done.  They did a great job in a week and it was only $96 plus tax.  I’ve had other stuff altered there and noticed that the names on some of the alterations tickets were those that I recognized from the Chronicle’s best dressed list.

I would go by word of mouth or look in your local phone book listings, even go as far as looking locally online.

Good luck!

I went to Beautiful U on West Alabama and they did a great job!  Their prices were very reasonable (IMO).
