You should go a few months before the wedding for any alterations. I had my first appointment in April for my June wedding.
My wedding is the beggining of Septmeber, and I was told to start alterations in May/June. So possibly for you Feb/March.

My wedding isn't until June 19, 2010. I bought and have my dress at home currently. It fit me like a glove. However will need to be hemmed a few inches. When would be a good time to bring it in for the hem? And then if I lose weight possible alterations but not likely?!
