So as I’ve posted before, I got a killer deal on my dress at a sample sale. It was originally made for a fashion show, and was going for over $2000 but I got it for $299.
Here it is when I first bought it. i figured it would look appropriate for a Paris wedding.
After my first fitting (hemmed, brought in, changed to a sweetheart neckline, back lowered and buttons added on back)
So after this fitting I started having dress regret since the bottom shape changed a bit once the excess material on the bottom was hemmed. I originally wanted a trumpet or mermaid shape, so I realized how straight the bottom actually was (I guess that’s what happens when you pick your dress alone, and the only person who sees it on is your drunk mom LOL). I figured I was SOL but decided last week to e-mail my alterations lady and ask.. and I was SOO happy when I went for my fitting today, and found out she’d almost finished the changes I wanted (I figured she’d have to see it on me first to see if it was even possible). So here it is now! She is taking in the boobs a bit and lowering the sweetheart neck a smidge more (which is why there’s pins there, haha), fixing up a couple more ruffles, and taking out the bottom a bit more (so it flares out a little more) I’m super happy with it.
Yay! Almost finished.

I think it would look gorgeous with a thin blingy belt!

Thanks so much ladies!!! I’m so glad my dress regrets are gone!
I think I’ll do a thin belt. if I get extensions and wear my hair down should I wear a necklace or do you think it’ll be too much?

What are you doing for a veil. I could just see that dress with a few flowers and a birdcage! Sooo pretty and super cool!
I almost would say you don’t need the hair extensions. Your so slim and you have a lovely long neck that you should show off.

@MrsDToBe2014: She’s taking the bottom out a little more and added more tulle underneath so I’ll have to see how it looks once she’s done!
@AnotherMrsBrown: For YEARS I thought I would do a birdcage veil, but the more weddings I shoot the sicker I get of them haha. I’ve never been a fan of traditional veils (for myself, I LOVE some on other girls just not me). I think I’ll either do a hairpiece, or something like this:
As for my hair.. I HATE the way my short hair looks with the back of the dress, I love short hair regularly but something about it with my dress I don’t like, so I figure I’ll try out the clip in extensions and see what I think 🙂
