Was talking with two recent brides the other day who both suggested to have my dress extra snug (even too tight) on my last fitting. Our dresses are zipped and not corseted. They said between the stress of the last week and the dress settling out, it should fit just fine for the ceremony. Have any bees done this? Is it too risky?

Too risky. You don’t want to be uncomfortable on your wedding day. I put on a few pounds and they didn’t magically disappear the day of my wedding.

Too risky. While some people may lose weight from stress, others stress eat and gain weight. So first of all, realize which type you are. Or perhaps you’re neither and don’t lose/gain weight with stress. I know my size never changed at all from wedding planning. I would just fit the dress to the size you are.

You’re right – it probably depends on the person.. I’ve been steadily losing weight and am hoping to lose a bit more in the next month. In the past though, I have been the opposite of a stress eater and more of the type that forgets to eat or loses appetite altogether. Maybe i’ll see how i do before my 2nd fitting which will be in 4 weeks. Thanks for the input so far!

I would think you would want your dress as tight as possible without being too tight. It might stretch a little as you are wearing it during your wedding, and you don’t want to have to fiddle with it.
