@ajames73: i would demand a full refund and send back the dress, there is no reason, that you should have to deal with getting it fixed.

I agree that the shop should replace the dress, but since your wedding is 5 weeks away, I would be nervous about having to order another one. How noticeable would the damage be if the tailor did his/her best to fix it?

This is horrible!  Definitely check with the seamstress to see if anything can be done.  Maybe they can match the chiffon and replace a segment?  If they can replace it with another piece, can the salon get an extra yard of fabric from the manufacturer shipped express to the seamstress?
