So I just had to vent! I got my dress last year and was absolutely in love with it.. still am. Unfortunately, life happens and I’ve gained weight (no one to blame but myself). Seamstress told me there was nothing she could do in alterations to make the dress fit and with my wedding so close I highly doubt I’l lose what I need to. So, I bit the bullet and bought another dress. The second dress is beautiful and I feel good in it, but it wasn’t my first choice and I’m kind of dissapointed. Also doesn’t help that I miss the way I looked in the first dress. Still trying to lose weight before the big day, but now at least I don’t have to worry about fitting into the dress. Have any other bees experienced this or am I one of the lucky ones?

From the pics, it doesn’t look like you’ve gained that much weight. I think you could still fit into your dream dress in time for the wedding. You look great in both dresses but I can see why you fell in love with the first one.

@Quicksand: You’ve got 3 months! I think you could definitely get back into that old dress. I just started the Advocare 24 day challenge (I don’t sell it – just happy with my results so thought I’d share!) I’m 3 days into the challenge and I’ve already lost 3 pounds and I feel WAY better. It’s kindof expensive but if I can lose the weight it’s worth it! Oh and it’s on sale through January 21st I think – that’s why I went ahead and gave it a try 😉 haha as I mentioned I don’t sell it, but I have a friend who does so just message me if you’re interested and I can give you her info.
Regardless of the weight/dress/whatever, just enjoy your wedding day as much as you can! Every bride is beautiful!!

could you get a second opinion from another seamstress? i saw an episode of say yes to the dres where a dress came in many sizes too small. i think they fixed it by making the back a corset back and adding material.
in terms of weight loss . . . it’s definitely doable to lose a pound a week while being healthy, and many people can lose a little bit faster. so if ten pounds could make the first dress work, i would say you can definitely do it.
