My dress came in a few days ago... finally stuffed myself in it and got a picture. I think I like it.... but it's a lot poofier than the one I tried on at the store, perhaps because the tulle is wrinkled. Also, the sample in the store was a huge size so the waist was lower... but because this is my size, the waist is higher and seems more a-line ballgown when I was going for more slim/dropped waist look. It's also a lot stiffer in the bodice than I thought. That boning is not messin around!

I think once I have hair/makeup and once this is steamed I will like it more. But I sent a picture to my sister and all she said was, "I like it!" Seems a bit undewhelmed. Did I make the right choice?

Ooh, I like the extra pouf compared to the sample. It's very flattering and pretty, don't worry. Try taking the side view picture and sending it to your sis, that might elicit a wow from her?

It looks great.  The difference on the drop waist is so minimal I don't see it.  I don't think it looks too poofy, just a better fit :)

I think it flatters your body wonderfuly! There is a noticble bigger poof, but if it really bothers you that much, you can always take it in and have a layer or two of tulle taken out, that'll make it lay a little flatter.

I think your dress looks way better than the store sample honestly lol.

It looks as though it fits you better (obviously lol) if its the tulle that is bothering you , that is super easy to remove; so its not so poofy.

I think you dress is awesome though! I def think you made the right decision!

In all honesty, the dresses are slightly different but the second one looks just as gorgeous on you...it's a really classy dress :)

I think the second one looks better on you! I went through the exact same thing when my dress came in. The samples get tried on so much they tend to be a little deflated, so when the brand new one comes to you it usually has a lot more volume.

If you don't like the look it should be easy fix to remove some under-layers...to be honest, though, I like the volume! You look great!

I agree with the PPs that the dress looks great on you but if it bothers you then removing some tulle probably wouldn't hurt.  :)

Your dress looks a lot better!  I'm sure you could wrap it some how to make the bottom compress a bit.

I feel like the sash is the only thing that is different. The first sash looks like it was tied an inch or so lower. Also, the curvature of the first sash draws the eye down... Whereas the second sash is straight across and doesn't pull the eye down at all. I honestly think you'll feel different if you try it on again with the first sash and tie it how it was in the sample pic.

Please,  your dress looks a thousands times better than the sample.  When we ordered my daughters dress, our consultant told us that lace dresses always come in stiffer because the samples have been tried on so many times and that even the oils from skin soften a dress.  If the sash is detachable, you could always move it around to get exactly right.  Also, if you think the dress has too much volume, in altertations, you can ask them to remove a layer of the crinoline underneath, but personally I love the drama of the volume, it gives you a stunning shape.  Fabulous gown!

I agree that it looks a little poofier, which I like, but I think the main difference is the sash.  The one in the first picture has some tapering too it, which adds interest and doesn't just cut you straight across.  I would maybe see if the sash is something you can exhange, and see if you like it better again.

Your comments brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for the positive words!

Yes, I may try to take out a layer of tulle. Also, the belt isn't the real thing, I took it from another dress. I was going to go get a custom sash made so I don't know if it'll be bedazzled or just simple yet.... We shall see.

I think that once it's pressed and I have hair and makeup done I'll feel totall differently. That makes a big difference in how one looks and feels in any outfit!

I think it looks great on you!  I love the dropped waist better than the higher waist on the sample dress.
