Does anyone know an average cost to clean a heavily beaded satin wedding gown? If noone knows of an average, I'd be curious as to what folks paid and whether or not it was just hang up or packed in a box.

Well i have a heavily beaded Maggie Sottero wedding dress i purchased for my wedding which was used. I need to clean it and went into a few shops for cleaning and the lowest price i received was no less than $120. First one said $275 i about flipped... more beading the more money. I wish i knew someone in the business.

Are you asking about an online company or a local company?  I first used Wed Clean to clean my dress and it cost about $130 and it came back stained!  I was quite furious and they didn't care to do anything about it.  I wrote a few other posts about it here if you want to check it out.  Then, I took my dress to National Gown Cleaners in Campbell, CA (they do take dresses from anywhere in the country, though) and they did an EXCELLENT job!  Their prices start at $125, but I think I paid closer to $200/$250 for my gown and it was well worth it in my opinion.  They also insure your gown while it's there for what you paid for it, so if ANYTHING at all happens to it, you get every penny back for what you paid for your dress.

I'm not sure whether or want National or local. I image shipping would be expensive.

I know for most places they don't actually charge for shipping, it's usually included in the cleaning price, but you would have to check with each individual company to be sure.

I used wed clean and didn't personally have any problems. Shipping (both ways) was included in the cost. I think it was about $100 to have it cleaned and preserved? I don't remember but it's really easy to get a quote. They don't have a life time warranty though, only 20 years.

I shopped around and paid $175 for mine (very very full skirt, intricate beading at waistline, duchess satin)  however I did get quotes upwards of $500!
