I have heard that there is like a month of work shutdown for Chinese New Year, but that happens every year, so vendors should certainly not be surprised by it.
There were crazy snowstorms in China in January as well. It was big news, as apparently it was a major economic impact. Here are some pictures:
I ordered my dress on Nov 19, 2007 and was orginally told it would arrive in may...now i'm being told august is the earliest!

My gown is coming in April 9th for a May 24th wedding. After hearing your posts, now I'm scared it will come in late. I have no time to spare!!!

My dress was supposed to be here by April 1st at the latest, and it still hasn't shipped from China! I'm leaving for my destination wedding May 2nd, but I have been assured that it will be here early next week.

I have heard of alot of delays in china's shipping system . I work for a global shipping company and can say it's not just you! Try explaining to a guy in south florida that his package isn't in Destination China because of a snowsorm or new years!!!.... I'll keep you girls in my prayers!I hope everythign works out!
My dress from Alfred Angelo was about 3 weeks late and I was given Chinese New Year as an excuse too, but not any snowstorms. Like Suzanno, I just didn't understand how something that happens every year could affect the manufacturers so. After some pushing by my bridal shop, it barely got to me in time for my portraits.
Yup, me, too. I ordered from a salon in my town. It's a Watters gown. Delayed approx 6 weeks so far. My wedding isn't until July, so I've got some cushion time, but I'm definitely concerned.

Hi ladies,
Has anyone else experienced a delay in their dress arriving lately? I ordered a Casablanca gown back in Nov. 07 from an ebay seller (who has an extremely high amt. of positive feedback, etc). She said my dress would come mid-March.
Mid-March comes and goes, dress never comes, it's still not here. After several unanswered emails, she finally said that there was a "freak snowstorm" in China and that she has had many dresses delayed because manufacturers there took an extra vacation around the Chinese New Yr.
Just wanted to know if anyone else has heard about this? I truly want to believe my dress is on its way (June wedding!!!) but I keep getting promises from this lady and no dress yet.... eek!
