How did you guys know your dress was the one?I'm having trouble because I like 2 dresses and the both look good, but they are completely different.I know I've heard people say they had an emotional reaction when they put on "the one", however I didn't.Also, one of the dresses is going to go on super sale here soon so I need to make a deciscion, however, I have plenty of time since my wedding isn't until 2011 and my sister does want me to go to phoenix to look.I just don't know what to do!?!?!How did you know? Also, I've included pictures of the two dresses i'm considering just for your opinions. Thanks!
I knew the dress was "the one" when my mother wouldn't stop talking about it and when my FMIL had tears in her eyes. My gramma is also not one to usually say much and she told me I looked beautiful in it and loved it. I also wanted to wear it home that night :o)
So pretty! I especially love the top one!
You have plenty of time to choose the dress-- a lot of brides who buy their dress this early end up having second thoughts, and feel like they didn't look around enough. Could you ask the seller if they would be willing to honor that price after giving you a month to consider it?
I would wait....while they are both beautiful you have plenty of time to consider "the one". Lots of places have sales and you can sign up on their website for upcoming insider sales. Don't base your decision on a "super sale"! you may regret it later on.
I would wait because you have time. I didn't have 'the one' feelings with mine though and did sort of have second thoughts for buying too soon but it turned out well!
I love both of them, but I think the second one looks the best on you, however, you don't seem to be very happy in that pic though :/
They're both beautiful! I think I like the first one a little better though. I never had that moment where I absolutely knew, and I was in love with two also. I just ended up buying them both (together they were only $100 over budget) so I wouldn't have to decide. I only even did that because my wedding was 6 months away. Since you have time, I would advise you to wait. Just because you didn't have that magic moment and a lot of us don't doesn't mean you're incapable of it. Your dream dress may be out there and you would really regret making a decision so early in the game when you didn't have to. If one of those two dresses is the one, you'll still be able to get it later on. Good luck!
I would definitely wait and try on more dresses. Believe me I didn't do that and ended up being a 2-dress bride. You have lots of time.
WAIT!
I didn't like the first one at first glance, but then its kinda growning on me. I love the bottom, but not too sure about the top. The second one simply is not as unique as the first, but it does look good on you.
If thats stuff you've been thinking, then wait and keep looking. Maybe you need a second glance or a fresh start. You definately do not want to end up regretting your dress choice! GL!
My vote would be for the second one, but I would definitely WAIT! Enjoy the fun of shopping this year and wait until you know for sure until you buy :)
I LOVE the first one, and regarding not crying for either dress see the poll I put up recently:
http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/raise-your-hand-if-1
75% of the people who answered didn't cry when they found their dress!!!
I think the second one looks better on you; however, I would also recommend waiting. I think you will find something that you will love more in the next year and a half!
They both look great on you but if you've got time, OMG don't purchase yet! Please wait and don't become a 2 or 3 dress bride!!!!
I like #1...totally original. I needed to keep shopping to be sure and found the dress on the last day (after 7 stores). I did not cry, but I was definitely sure by then.
I think dress 2 looks very flattering on you, but you do not look like you like it from the picture. If you are not sure what you want, why not wait and look more? I do not think the super sale is that much of an incentive to buy now because what if you end up regretting the purchase? The money saved by a hasty purchase may be wasted.
When I found my dress I did not have A-HA, your mom cries, you cry moment. I just said/thought, "This is my best option, let's do it." I have no regrets.
They're both pretty but definitely wait! You have plenty of time and shouldn't feel rushed because of a sale.
i wasn't expecting an "it's the one moment" but i gasped when the saleshelper zipped me up. it was precisely the way i'd always pictured myself looking on my wedding day despite being a different material than i'd previously gravitated toward.
as for your dilemma: you look absolutely lovely in both, no doubt. the second appears more figure flattering in the photo but, to me, the first looks more "special" and unusual (in a great way). you certainly can't go wrong.
I think that if you're unsure of which dress to get, wait! Don't be rash, you have time. Try on other dresses and don't settle until you're totally sure you're the one. Dress regret is no good!
I like #1 better. you look much happier in it. Like pp said you have plenty of time so if you feel like you are picking one just to have it done, wait. If you can't decide because you truely love them both, then I would pick #1.
You have plenty of time. I think that you should wait. GO look at more dresses.
I really like dress #1, but I will reiterate what almost everyone else has said...wait to make a purchase! You have so much time and it is very likely other dresses will come along that you will like better.
Wow, dress number 1 is so fun and funky! It is my personal favorite, but it really depends on what the theme of your wedding will be. If it will be more formal and elegant, the second dress is best; if it will be more fun and funky and/ or vintage, I'd go with the first dress.
Can I ask who made the first dress? It's gorgeous!!
I like that the first one is different from anything I've seen before...BUT I don't think that it's the most flattering. Honestly, if you don't feel super excited about either of them...keep looking in my opinion...you'll know...
Definitely wait. You have plenty of time!! You may find something else that you'll fall in love with!
I'd put a poll on this one, cos it seems pretty even...but yeah, if you can, wait. There are a whole world of lovely dresses out there. At any rate, I like the second one more!!
I'm in the same boat, 9-10-11 bride here! just enjoy playing dress-up. you have time.
I like #2
but... wait ...
there may be many new styles coming out you havent seen yet!?!
wow! both of those are GORGEOUS on you!
but, i totally vote #1! its sooooo elegant and it just looks perfect on you!
i like the second one better on you, BUT i would wait, especially if you didnt feel anything about those... you have plenty of time to look and search for THE DRESS! honestly i didnt have any emotional reaction and neither my parents..(we are though people), but i knew it was the one because it made me look awesome and i kept smiling and i didnt want to get undressed..lol i could clean my house with that dress on! i went for 2 fittings already and i have the same reaction i see my dress...a big smile on my face!
good luck!
