Hi this post may be a bit late, but I just joined. Now I know all the mothers of the bridae may hate me for this...but personally, I would go for the dress that YOU like best. I love my mom and all, but her and my taste is very different, and I am sure what ahe would pick for me, and what I would pick are entirely two different things.
I want to feel great on my wedding day, and so i want to wear the dress I feel good in, not what my mom feels me good in. I know mom's opinion matters, and trust me my mom's does too, but she knows me well enough that I will wear what I like, no matter how much she hates it.
Whatever one you decide, you will look beautiful, but what people have told me is you will "know" when it's the right dress for you, so trust your gut.
I walked into a bridal shop, 15 minutes before the store was closing, with my sister, I quickly scanned the dresses, and pulled out one that caught my eye. !st of all it was short, strapless and had lace, all 3 things that I DID NOT want. Yet for some reason this one just called to me. I tried it on, and that was it!! I even went back to the store and tried on a bunch more as I was so freaked out that I found my dress in 15 minutes when I was NOT looking. I guess my point is that you'll know which one it is, go with what YOU want. Krusty
I bought a dress immediately after I got engaged. It was aboslutelty gorgeous, but after 6 months I decided that I needed a new one. I felt like I was just a hanger for the first dress. It was heavily embellished and beautiful, but I felt that everyone who saw me in it only saw the dress-not me. With my second dress, when I tried it on I immediately thought "I feel so pretty!"...not "what a pretty dress". Wear what makes you feel amazing, it's YOUR DAY!
