Hi there fellow bees,
I’m new and I am mildly freaking out about my possible wedding dress choices…. I’ve narrowed it down to two dresses, the first is this: Mori Lee by Madeline Gardner.
I’m obsessed with the colour and the lace detailing. It’s a bit of a drop waist but I tried it on in the Ivory and it looked good on (I think) but I would want to get it in the caramel (shown above). The kicker is I haven’t seen the caramel colour on, I can’t find it in Toronto… so if anyone has pictures of them in it, I would be hugely grateful!
The second dress is this, it’s Rondald Joycem Brunilde.
I love the sleeves and the sparle of this dress. The waist it also very flattering. But I don’t love the starkness of the ivory.
So I should also note I am a size 18 bride of East indian deceent, though I’m not dark, I’m brown. So I’m a curvy brown gal with boobs, hence my love of the sleeves, though I would likely add sleeves to the first dress.
What are you ladies thoughts??? Which dress?? HELP!! WHAT SHOULD I DO!!
Any thoughts on the styles, designers or real life photo’s would be much appreciated!

Thank you!!!

I would totally go for the caramel color. Is it possible the second dress comes in a light gold/mocha/dark ivory? If not, I would go with the first one hands down – the color will be stunning. (But it’s a leap of faith, I realize!) Good luck!!!

They are both beautiful. But the first is really something else, I second that the color will look stunning on you! I also like the silouette a lot more.

Boy have you got good taste! They are both exceptionally beautiful. Pick the one that most flatters your figure. Can you post a picof you in each one?

Hi again ladies! I wish I could post a picture in them both but I can’t find the caramel one and when I tried on the Ronald Joyce it was a size 10! Lol I looked like a stuffed sausage so in that sense they are both a leap of faith.
One dress fits amazingly (the ivory version of the Mori Lee) but I have no idea what the caramel looks like in person, where as the Ronald Joyce I loved the shimmer and sleeves but have no idea what it will look like in my size!
I love the caramel…. But I think I’m stressing because of the sleeve issue… Ha
Thank you all so much for your comments they are making me feel a lot better about the untraditional caramel!

mandz4u: They are both beautiful dresses but the first is my preference. If you are nervous about the lack of sleeves, you could always see able having a bolero or shrug made.

can you try on a different dress is a similar caramel color by the same designer?

I obviously do not know anything about you other than what you have told us about yourself. However, my thoughts are that anyone who is feeling obsessed about that first, gorgeous dress in caramel is not going to be happy with a beautiful white dress, no matter how sparkly it is or whether or not the first dress has sleeves.
There is something inherently dramatic about a dress that has lace against a darker, neutral background. That type of contrast can’t be replicated with tone on tone in a lighter color. If that’s the look you truly love (and it is quite beautiful), then go for it! I always tell brides who can’t decide between two dresses to choose the one that you KNOW you will REGRET NOT choosing.

The Mori Lee is absolutely stunning! I am sure you can have sleeves or a bolero added.

I am going to try and find a similar colour as the Mori Lee and make sure the colour suits me. I’m struggling because my mom thinks it maybe too dark…. I don’t agree. Ugh so hard. I worry it may wash me out!
Me last week at a work event, to give you an idea of my colouring and size.
Thank you all so much for your thoughts, makes me feel a lot better!

mandz4u: both dresses are gorgeous! It would be great to see pics of you in both to give you a better recommendation 🙂

I am so in love with the first dress, there’s no question if it were me!

Hi again fellow bees,
Thank you all again so much! So I’ve found the dresses!
This is me in them …
And dress 2
What do you think??

After seeing you in both gowns, it makes it harder. I love the silhouette of the Mori Lee on you, it looks great on your body, but I’m actually not a fan of the colour on you.
I know it’s called caramel but it has pink/peach tones to me and I think those look better on people with ultra pale skin who need the colour of the gown to stop them from looking like ghosts LOL. You have gorgeous olive skin so you don’t need anything to boost it!
Maybe you could try it in white or ivory?
Other than that, Allure and David Tutera/Mon Cheri both have similar dresses to the Mori Lee available in colours. I think you should try some of those on to see how the different shades work for you. There are so many different variations on what they call champagne, blush, gold etc that you really can’t know until you try them on.
