I’m hoping that you all can weight on and help me out with my dress dilemma – so here’s the scoop!
I went dress shopping for the first time ever back in February. I had two dress styles in mind, and I very quickly narrowed it down to the one style after trying on just a few gowns. I knew then that I wanted a fitted, all-lace gown that was elegant and timeless. We went to 3 bridal shops and at the end of the day, the only dress that made me feel like an elegant bride was an Allure gown that I had tried on at the first store. So, I ordered the dress and that was the end of it.
Well, fast forward to last week when I was doing some wedding planning and stumbled upon a picture of a gown that just took my breath away. It is similar to my dress, but has all of these little details that I wanted in a dress that my current dress is lacking. I knew I had to try this dress on, so I went to the only bridal boutique in my home town and tried it on – and it was gorgeous!
So now, here is the dilemma. What do I do?? I have already found multiple sources to buy this dress used, but even used it would still carry a price tag of around $2000. I’m really not too concerned about the money, and I do want to have the absolute perfect dress that makes me feel as good as I can on that day, but I am also a pretty rational person most of the time, so I just need some more opinions on what I should do.
So, on with the pictures! Please be brutally honest…I need honest opinions on whether or not I should make another purchase or if, as my sister thinks, the dresses are so similar that I should just stick with the original! (I think she’s wrong, obviously)
The first dress is Allure 2561
And the second dress is Alvina Valenta 9102

So, there is it, Bees! The reasons that I’m falling more in love with the second dress is because of the details. I really have always wanted a sweetheart neckline, and I know I could have the original dress altered to have more of a sweetheart, but the overall quality and attention to detail with the Valenta dress is incomparable…it is just an exsquisite gown. Thanks to everyone who can help!!
