- Wedding: July 2014
Hi everyone! This is my first post on these boards, and I am so excited to get your input as I start the planning process! I am getting married in July 2014 at a country club.
Currently, I’m struggling with my dress- specifically, deciding between a dress I currently have and a dress I tried on today.
Dress A: Dress A is a Mori Lee 1855, and an amazing deal. I bought it online, without seeing it in person, mostly because it was gorgeous and marked down from $1400 to $520, new with tags. The dress came a month ago, and was quite big (two dress sizes, and about 6 inches too big in the bodice). I can’t return it, or exchange it for a new size. I am meeting with my second seamstress on Friday to discuss alterations (the first is wheelchair bound, and wasn’t physically able to help with the extensive alterations. I really do like this dress, especially the beading on the bodice. However, I’ve never really stopped looking at other dresses. With this dress being so big, I’ve had a hard time falling in love with it.
Dress B: I saw Dress B today, and absolutely loved it- so much that I cried big ugly tears in the dressing room. It’s an Ella Rosa, style number BE205. When I compare it to the cost of Dress A and A’s alterations, it will be about $300 more expensive. I loved the shape, the lace, and the princess-y portion of the bottom. I would order this dress in ivory, and the belt would be fitted so that it wouldn’t have the bow. It’s also a size too big, so it’s a little wider in the hips than it would be after alterations (and cookies, and TCBY, and pumpkin beer, etc).
At this point, I’m struggling with whether I should plan on returning Dress A, prior to meeting with the seamstress on Friday. I really love Dress B.
Bees, what are your thoughts about the dresses? Thank you all!
