So you may already know that Vera Wang launched her new line 'White...' at David's Bridal.
I'm now torn between 2 dresses, a traditional Blue by Enzoani gown -- chantilly lace with beading and sequins -- and the blush organza beauty from White by Vera Wang.
It's quite a pickle I'm in...tell me honestly, Hive - which do you prefer?
I think that the vera looks amazing on you! I do think though that both you and your FI have to be ok with a pink dress. It is so different I'd just think an extra minute to be sure you're okay with that :)
I love the Vera, and I think the color is amazing (and a little gutsy, which I love).
Oh my god, that blush Vera!!! And look at how rockin your body is in that silhouette!
the vera that color looks great on you...even though i am in love with the belt on the lace one
Oh. My. God. I would plan another wedding for that pink Vera. MUST GET!
@CorgiTales: I agree! You look amaaaaazing in the vera! But I'd see if my fiance was cool with a non traditional dress color.
Vera in Ivory! But if you're a less traditional bride, go for the blush! :)
I've heard other brides complaining about getting the Vera Wang White dress for shorter people. That dress currently looks too long, find out if they can alter it first!!!
Get the Vera in that color!!!!!!! Please do it! You will make me so happy!!!~!
The Vera is very pretty on you, but I wouldn't be able to get over the color. In my opinion, a bride should wear whatever she wants to her wedding, but for me that is a white/ivory colored dress.
If you could find a dress like the vera (shape and unique factor), but wasn't pink, I'd think that would be the best thing ever. It definitely exists.
The enzoani doesn't do as much for your figure as the Vera does.
OMG Number 2!!!! In that color!! I totally would have gotten that if I saw it!! IMO, number one does nothing for your figure. You look amazing in the Vera!!
I knew I could count on the Hive to come through on this one! Thanks friends, I needed some reinforcement. If When I go for it, I'm going all the way blush. Our reception is at the Santa Cruz boardwalk and the color reminds me of cotton candy. Our wedding party will be outfitted in silver and gray and it would be so fun to be the pretty girl in pink!
The votes so far are 3:1 for the Vera. I took the advice of @CorgiTales and @ratana187 and asked the FI about pink for a wedding dress (without showing him the photos). He said if it made me happy then he would be happy. He's SO supportive and I know he's being truthful.
@lox: I think I'm more comfortable in the pink Vera
I wore it for 45 min. in the salon and was sad to take it off, and didn't have those feelings in the Enzoani.
@Miss OBG: I don't know yet if I'm brave enough to do it!
@beck2325: I love that belt, too! That's what pulled the look together, it's such a statement piece. I wouldn't wear the Enzoani without it, which is why I'm not completely sold on it.
@kermie: The consultant said they build the dress from your waistline and adjust the hem as they construct based on your measurements, so it would be proportional and the right length for my short self.
@berkie: Thanks for the encouragement! I'm thinking I want to go for it, but it will take a few days to sink in.
@mcnetn3: I appreciate your candid feedback. You can see I'm struggling between the opposite ends of the spectrum. The Enzoani makes me feel like what's expected of me, or the image of myself that I try to project, and the blush Vera is the real me exposed. I had no idea a piece of clothing could be so emotional!
All, thanks again. Your comments are so helpful. I'll keep you posted, this is not an easy or quick decision for me to make.
You should check out pronovias dresses, there are some dresses with similar styling as the Vera, dropped waiste, unique details on the skirt, similar prices... that may give you the wow factor without the color.

these two are really pretty too
#2 all the way! I dont think its a dress that everyone can pull off but you do amazingly. It is also a much more up-to-date and younger look that suits you much better! And this is coming from someone who doesn't like all these new trendy dresses. You REALLY pull this one off beautifully!
Get the Vera! The color look amazing on your skin tone. I think blush is beautiful. Just stunning. And by the way you talk, you love it more. What helps me make a decision is giving FI 2 options then telling him to choose, like on centerpieces, if he chooses option 1 it makes me realize that i cant let go of option 2 i just needed someone to take it away for me to realize how much i wanted it. I have no clue if that makes any sense. lol. And obviously dont show FI your dress, someone else whose opinion you trust.
@truitjen: Great advice! As I process your comment, I'm realizing if he said that he preferred to see me in a traditional color I'd be disappointed. I know what I want/have to do, thanks for putting the decision in a simple format for me to "get" it.
the vera does it for me. i'm a pink girl, and if i had the chance, i'd snatch one up for myself and wear that on my big day instead! lol =] good luck on your decision!
I know I am late to the party, but I also love the blush one on you. You look amazing in it. Just one thing though, I saw a post the other day where a bee purchased this dress and she commented that no one seems to know how to shorten it. Before you make your purchase, I suggest trying it on with the shoes and undergarments that you are going to wear on your wedding day, so you can make sure the length is good for you.
@noritake22: I also saw her post about alterations...these dresses are causing quite a stir! My sales consultant seemed more confident, but I'm def. going to triple my due diligence before I go through with it. Thanks!
i think you've made your decision! although u know i am biased! i think it totally depends what style your wedding is, if it fits in with this and also what your fiance will think (a little)
last night i was showing my husband all the enzoani gowns on the website and he had some funny opinions about dresses! i'd hate him to look at my dress and think it was wierd - although ultimately its what u feel best in
i personally dont like the bottom of the vera so much (contraversial i know) it looks a little unfinished to me, but i had a traditional wedding and so its just not completely my style
however although i'm not a huge fan of pink gowns i think you rock that colour and it doesnt look like your a berbie princess or anything which i sometimes think if i see a bride in pink - its a very classy shade of pink
although it is traditional to go with ivory/white - it is a lot easier to wear a pink gown to another event and i knew i wouldnt get another opportunity to wear a long ivory gown other than my wedding day
just my 2 cents for you! feel free to completely ignore it
good luck choosing
@pink.sequins: In that case, what I would do is irrelevant. You should get the Vera because you clearly love it. ;)
