I guess we have completly different tastes, I think you look best in strapless and I don’t think a ballgown is the way to go.  I’d love to see you in some of the other styles.

I actually think the strapless looks the best on you!  You don’t look like a linebacker at all!  I remember feeling the same way until I tried on strapless and realized it wasn’t as bad as I thought.  My vote is strapless with no straps added.  You look lovely in it :).

I agree with you in that a ballgown is a silhouette that works for you, but to be honest I don’t really like any of the dresses that you posted. I just don’t like the top of any of them >.< It looks to me like all of these are drop waist ballgowns, have you tried on a natural waist ball gown? They look amazing on curvy women and would really emphasize your small waist.

Have you tried other silhouettes for wedding gowns?

love the bling on the dresses 🙂

Out of these I like the strapless one best- I actually think the straps bring attention to your shoulders, and thus emphasizing them.  The strapless dress (as is) is really pretty!  Not linebacker-ish at all.

OMG! The ruffle, natural waist dress is the best. Hands down!

@butterflywings:  I voted for the natural waist.  I think straps would look nice on you – but maybe not spaghetti straps (I always just flash back to the 1990’s when I see them..haha).  I think the natural waist makes your body look great! I just don’t like this particular natural waist gown – maybe try on some more 🙂 Good luck!

@butterflywings:  ooo then I vote lace!  But I can’t undo my previous vote.  I think you look a million times better in either of the 2 other styles then the Ball gowns. :/

@OnceUponATime:  I agree, that ruffled one is pretty and flattering. The top needs to be tighter, fitted to you.

I don’t really like the first three that you posted, they look tight and uncomfortable. Is that what you mean by lots of shapewear?I just do not like V-waists in general.

I thought that the last one was pretty, too.

I think ballgowns could work for you, but I don’t necessarily think that these borderline drop-waist/v-waist ballgown styles you posted are the most flattering ballgown shape. A ballgown that has more of a empire or natural waist rather than a lower waist would look lovely I think.

The ruffled one was very flattering in that respect, but needs to be more fitted in the bust.

Since a picture is worth a thousand words, this is the shape I was referring to:

Rather than cutting across at the hips, it’s drawn in at the waist.
