I think it's great! Bad lighting in a dressing room with a sample dress is not the same as having a pro pic (and I still think it looks great under these conditions). You chose well, and everything is going to be fine. Don't fret!
You can definitely tell that you have a gorgeous hourglass figure under there-- I agree with DG, don't fret! Seriously, your proportions look perfect-- I'm not sure what you're talking about with this chunkalicious nonesense. :) I think the slight sweetheart neckline will definitely improve the look, and make it even more curvy.
Thank you! That lighing is awful, isn't it, lol? The pink room doesn't help one bit!
I think you really look fabulous, and the dress on you does everything you want it to! It shows curves, but it still very elegent. Once you get one that actually fits you'll probably feel more comfortable about it. Don't stress!
Ooooohhhh I like it! I think it will turn out fantastic. It ALWAYS looks beter once its tucked and sewn in all the right places. Things will work out. :)
i like this dress! like you said, it's a mix of princessy & form-fitting :) you look great in it too!
i would make it a sweetheart neckline - but keep the dress, it looks good on you!
Oh I think with the sweetheart neck it will look fabulous! The ruching gives you an amazing hourglass shape. I think you made the right choice!
I like the word chunkulous! But that's definitely not you! Your dress is very beautiful and you look stunning!
You definitely can't judge anything by the horrible fitting room light and trick mirrors. When it is altered, you'll look even more fabulous. The dress and you look great!
Thanks for helping me feel better about it! Now I can get on with my life, lol :)
I think it's an awesome dress and will look even better once yours comes in!

I must admit, I've got a bit of dress distress going on here. I purchased my dress a few weeks ago, and, at the time, I fell in love. Here is the model photo:
To me, it was the perfect mix of princess-y ball gown and form-fitting sophistication.
I went back last night to take some photos. Here are the crappiest photos ever of someone in a sample dress
I have faith (I think) that when the dress is mine, it will fit well and look great, but, honestly, I am not all that thrilled with the way they look. When I initially tried the dress, they pinned me in in a way I recall as being better-looking.
However, the sample is (a) in lousy condition, and (b) a size too small and doesn't close in the back, thus making me look kind of chunkalicious.
When my gown comes in, we will alter the neckline to look like this one:
and add buttons in the back
So, here they are. Please be honest. I promise I'm not sensitive
