Hello ladies! I’ve posted several dresses that I’ve liked on here for opinions (thanks for all that replied!), but I still haven’t found a dress that I LOVE. I won’t be getting married until mid-june of next year, but I also know that chances are I won’t be able to get anything from the spring 2015 collections in time. I’ve tried on dresses from Alfred Angelo, Allure, Maggie Sottero, San Patrick, Casablanca and a few more, but I haven’t found anything that’s right for me.
My question to you is: Do you think the size of the sample you try on can make a difference?
I was convinced I’d love the Maggie Sottero Lucinda dress, and the local store called me today to let me know it finally arrived. When I got there, they said, “It’s going to be really big on you, but we’ll pin it to give you an idea!” It was a size 18, and I would need a size 4 or 6. When I put it on, I liked what I thought I would about it (the lace and the lightness of it), but I couldn’t grasp my head around what it would really look like. They pinned it in the back, but the top/sleeves weren’t pulled up at all, and the length was far too long (as is the case with most samples)… I don’t know if it’s my disappointment saying I would have liked it had it been closer to my real size, or if it’s just as simple as the fact that I just didnt like it…

I know it’s hard to even tell what’s going on in this photo, but essentially i’m hoping to show that I couldnt successfully figure out how the dress would really fall on my body despite the clips they put on it:
