    Hi Bees!!

my wedding is in 3 days and my dress DOES NOT FIT. It's TOO SMALL! I am currently a size 6 and the dress is size 4.

My dress is $3000 and I NEED to fit in it in 3 days.

I have been emotionally eatting and gaining so much weights.

Do you know a way to drop a dress size in 3 days? I don't care if it's temporary. I really need to fit in the dress!!

    PLEASE HELP

Sorry, I don't really know how to lose a lot of weight in just 3 days. If it is only a pound or two; not drinking soda, not eating sugar, etc. might help. I think you best option is to get some emergency alterations done. If you don't already have a corset back in your gown, then putting one in may help. Also, there may be some room in the seams, so the seamstress can let it out some.

    @butterball:

Can you get a lace-up back put in tomorrow???

You really don't want to risk making yourself sick on your wedding day trying something to get into the dress.  That would really ruin your day-more than anything

Drink LOTS of water, over 100 oz a day. Eat only fresh fruits and veggies and lean meats. Eat whole cooked oats for breakfast and eat absolutely no salt, fats,or butter. Also eat no more than a saucer size every three and a half hrs to rev that metabolism.

@creativeplannertobee: Hi!! there are SO much details on the dress. My mom was reading my post and she said I am closer to fit in the dress than from size 6 to 4. I am more like size FIVE.

The dress can be zipped up, but there are some FAT and FLABS hanging out. and I cannot breath in it.

    IT FITS really badly..

I am currently taking water pills and I had spinach and salad dressing all day today.

I am even thinking of doing HCG diet for 3 days. will that work?

    I am so desparate!

    Thank you

@butterball: knock it off with the salad dressing and it'll make a difference, eat veggies, grilled chicken (the protein will curb your appetite), and drink tons of water. Is there at sauna at your gym you can go to?

ZERO carbs apart from salads to make sure you don't get constipated, no salt, and tons of caffeine might help you loose enough water weight for it to fit.

No salt, lots of protein and very low carb. You will lose a lot of water weight. Basically atkins stage one.

Get a body wrap from a professional spa. They can trim inches for just a day or two

If you eat eggwhites and then grapefruit after each meal for 3 days, you'll drop 5 lbs. This is a TEMPORARY diet, not a long term one.

You can exercise as well for the next 3 days. Run 4+ miles, even if you have to walk some.

    I hope this helps!

the 3 DAY  diet will make you lose a stone .....

cottage cheese, tuna and beetroot   etc.   it DOES work,   and you will gain it all back again once you eat differently.  this could be the answer for you for the short term.

I would second putting in a corset back if possible. It will mean that you can adjust the dress up or down on the day and will take a lot of the stress out of it.

Are you wearing a shaper under your dress? If not, I suggest getting one- the one I bought seriously did wonders for making my dress fit!

I also suggest emergency alterations- I know you said there are a lot of details on your dress, but a corset back can do wonders.

Do you have pictures of your dress, or a current picture of you in it when it's zipped up?

I got REALLY constipated the week before my wedding because of stress and it packed on the pounds.  The dress felt TIGHT the morning of the wedding!  So make sure you're "going" regularly.

Also, go hit up some Bikram yoga.  Its 90 minutes of intense yoga in a steaming hot room.  Some people lose several pounds of water weight at a time.

    Hmmm.. mysterious disappearing post.

I second the body wrap! Some don't do anything besides feel warm and relaxing (like a chocolate papaya mud wrap) but some compress your stuff and make you noticeably tighter and firmer. It is temporary, but this is an emergency!

Search around and see what you can find! I've never done one so I can't tell you want kind, but my mother used to get them done and they worked, in their intended temporary way. :)

    Good luck!

@Tunacupcakes: Yes! I've heard that these can make you shrink for a short while, a day or two.

I've had a "body firming wrap" and it definitely got rid of an inch or two, but only for a day! It's a good option but have it done the day before the wedding and until then (if emergency alterations aren't an option), I second what the rest of the bees have been saying- invest in some major shapewear, try Bikram yoga and other work out/sauna options and keep up eating spinach, that way you'll lose weight and it should keep you regular in the toilet department! Good luck! And let us know how you get on!

This isn't a good situation at all! I just wanted to point out that doing a "Temp" diet will NOT work because what will end up happening is you will loose the weight (maybe) and the dress will fit but you will get bloated and puffy the second you eat something other then whats instructed for your "Temp" diet. That means you can pretty much rule out eating at your wedding which would be a huge bummer! There isn't a way to loose a dress size in three days unfortunately. Even if you were able to manage it, your body could go into shock if it's too far from your normal diet. Nobody wants to pass out on their wedding day! Best thing you can do at this point is RUN and I mean RUN to find another sample dress or possibly do your best to make a corset work. The weight thing, I'm sorry to say isn't going to happen.

The problem is not with weight, it's with the way your weight is DISTRIBUTED (from what I gather about you saying there's flab hanging over the sides of the dress). Unfortunately, you can lose 5 pounds of water weight in a day or two but that does not change the distribution of fat on your body. That won't magically disappear in just three days; cutting out salt and carbs and eating fruits and drinking tons of water will flush out a bunch of water from your system and you will be lighter, but you will not be SMALLER, if you see what I'm saying. Your best bet is to rush to your seamstress and beg her to put in a corset back. That is the only way I see you being able to fit into your dress in just three days. Being lighter does not mean being shaped differently, and that's the issue you're having with your dress. You cannot alter your body in 3 days, you will have to alter the dress.

If your wedding is in 3 days I really dont think its a good idea to try any crazy diets. Weddins are stressful and you dont want to feel faint or weak during the day.  A good alterations person should be able to do something to that dress to make it fit better.

I am so sorry! That's an awful and stressful situation to be in with just a few days to go!

I would definitely continue with cutting out the salt and carbs and eating the vegies/fruits, grilled and lean meats but honestly, do not try starving yourself and be careful with the wraps. Drink a TON of water if you are cutting back on cals and pumping up the cardio and, if you decide to, the wraps because your body will dehydrate and then it will hold on to water and your metabolism will plummet and it will stockpile your food. PLus, it'll just make you sick and weak. Nothing drastic is going to happen and like PP have said, you'll feel lighter because all you will lose it water weight, not fat. Maybe a lb will be fat but not enough.

I would try to keep my eating portions normal because again, like PP have said, the moment you start eating and drinking on your wedding day and it will more than likely be proportionally larger and richer, your body will bloat. Go ASAP to your seamstress and see what she can do for you. Maybe you just need the zipper let out a bit or maybe a corset back is the best you can do but DO NOT rely on these crash diets, not in 3 days! As terrible as they are, if you had a week it would make a huge difference but not 3 days! Right now, just focus on what you put in your mouth and keep your portions normal and hit the gym with cardio. You'll lose enough to feel comfortable on your wedding day and not get bloated once you start eating and drinking.

Please, please go to the seamstess! You are WAY too close to rely on 2 days of working out and starving yourself (the wedding day doesn't count for dieting)!!  Good luck and be careful!

1 corset back idea is the best

2 only skinless chicken breast (plain) or fish and water and not that its healthy but maybe a fiber pill (if you get where Im going).

@tinylittlebird:  Good advice.  My spanx make clothes fit looser.  You can tape down bits of "pooch" sticking out over your dress too.

When you're pretty thin to begin w/, doing a harsh water weight diet can definitely make you more cut in just a couple of days.  I had zero time to eat anything the days before my wedding, so it didn't even take willpower.  Good luck to you.  I hope it's fitting better already.

i had been dieting like crazy before getting my fittings done so i could be as small as possible for the dress fitting....then the day of the fitting i almost fainted. like i got dizzy, my ears started ringing, everything started to fade. luckily i said somethng, they made me sit down and drink and eat sugar (cookie). i was just sooo thankful that this happened then and not on my wedding day.  so basically i am saying if you do a crash diet and your dress is super tight that u can't breathe, you will be at a very high risk for fainting on your wedding day. you need to be well fed and healthy and happy.  if you are anything like me, you will also be extra stressed in 3 days because it is your wedding day! the morning of my wedding, i was so nervous and stressed, i didnt want to eat a thing, but i forced myself to because of what happened at my fitting!

i am with those who are telling you to get emergency alterations. you want to ENJOY your day and that won't happen if you can't breathe or if you pass out.

Ya try to do a detox. You will lose water weight and it is only tempareary but thats really all you need. See if you can get it altered very quickly to a lace up back or can it be let out at all... one size isnt that much if it can zip right now and it can be let out even a quarter of an inch or so on the sides that would make a huge difference.

Okay, please don't take this the wrong way, but did the dress fit before?  Did you maybe just bloat a little due to PMS or retaining water?  If it fit some time before this, then yes, I think that water pills might help.  If it never fit you before, then I think you should go the alterations route.

I would definitly get a lace up back put in because what if you try to lose the weight and you can't and its the day of. That would be a disaster! They can probably put in a lace up back without taking out any of the details of your dress or at least without taking out many of the details. I think it would be worth it to lose some of the details on your dress just to make sure it fits and looks good on you and relieve the stress that you are under now. Btw have you tried a corsette?

@butterball: HCG won't work since you have to eat a ton the first few days you are on it, doesn't start dropping pounds until day 3-4. Raw asparagus, grapefruit juice, water will do the trick

"The dress can be zipped up, but there are some FAT and FLABS hanging out. and I cannot breath in it.

In my experience, the most effective fix for this problem, given a 3-day (now 2-day) time constraint, is to do a lot of strength training. Lat pulldowns, bench rows, tricep dips, dumbbell flies, push-ups, core exercises that target your back and sides (like weighted swiss ball crunches): basically anything that uses those muscles around your upper arms, shoulders, chest, and back.

It is counter-intuitive to lift weights to get smaller, but, at least with my body, it works more quickly than dieting or cardio (though obviously those help too). Good luck!
