Long story short, tried on my wedding dress tonight and it doesn’t fit. Not even close. Like, it barely comes up over my hips. I am devastated. I really, really love my dress because of it’s beading detail. Now, I am gonna have to sell it and get another one in three months. As if I needed another stressor!
This is all my fault, of course. I have been stress-eating.
This could be the most devastating thing I’ve had to face in this entire process.

I’m so sorry :/ Turn it all around tomorrow! Make a change! Do something good for yourself!

Could you see a seamstress about taking it out maybe?

@Pinksapphire: Oh no, so sorry to hear that. Good luck searching for a new gown.

I don’t know if this helps – but I felt the same way with my first dress!! I hope you don’t let it get to you! I talked to an independent seamstress who said she could open the back into a corset back, which would have not only solved the problem, but made the dress even more beautiful! Maybe this could work for your dress? (I ended up switching dresses because I didn’t like mine for other reasons)
Best of luck!! I’m sure you’ll look stunning no matter what!

The dress is actually a corset back. When I got it, it didn’t fully meet all the way in the upper back area. So, the seamstress suggested I have a gusset added in the back to take it out a bit. Since then, I guess I have gained a tremendous amount of weight and just haven’t noticed until tonight. Even adding a gusset under the corset would not help. I couldn’t breathe once I was finally able to shimmy into the thing!
My game plan right now is just to sell it and try to find something really, really quick. Although it’ll be cutting it super close!

@Pinksapphire: Sorry to hear that – how frustrating!! I feel the same way with all my jeans in the last few months, but your dress is much more important than my jeans! Well at least you get to try on new dresses and make sure you get the dress you absolutely love, that’s how I looked at it when I got the second dress! If you need to sell the first one, I used a wedding consignment shop and it hasn’t sold yet, but I think that was the best deal I could find. Best of luck

@Pinksapphire: Good luck selling your dress and getting a new one. It might seem like a uphill battle but i’m sure you can do it – I watched an episode of SYTTD the other day and they found an off the rack gown for a girl who was getting married the next day. Hopefully someone will be able to help you 🙂

Wish you the best of luck!
It’s really frustrating. I hope you can work it out soon.
