I am having dress doubts. I purchased it off the rack, and it’s now in the spare bedroom at my parents house. Here is the pic from the designer (Mori Lee Julietta 3052)
Pic isn’t coming up, so here’s the link: http://www.morilee.com/bridals/julietta/3052
And here is me in the dress:
I’m trying to lose maybe 10-15 pounds before the wedding – I don’t want the dress to be falling off of me, but I do want to loose a little belly and tone my arms. But, I’m not sure this is my dress anymore. I purchased it on the first time dress shopping – never went to any other stores, just had the aha moment. But, I’m not aha’ing anymore. I don’t like how the top fits, I fell like it really bunches under the bust line, and I’m not happy with the bustline either. I know it needs to be altered, but can it even be altered to fit me with the type of bodice it has? I do need the right bra to go with it – finding the right size is proving to be very difficult.
Should I start over, or do you think this should be able to be fixed, so I can be a beautiful bride? Right now, I don’t feel very beautiful in it. 🙁

I think your dress is stunning – put the effort into finding the right bra and having it altered – it will be worth it.

Have you tried it on with a crinoline at all? Looking at the stock photo the skirt is a little fuller in proportion there, that might help the look. I’m no expert, but I don’t see why it couldn’t be altered on top to fit right.

@GroovyHippieChick: I totally agree.
@nyscpa2be: That is one gorgeous dress!!! It’s normal to have dress doubt (I had it too until I tried on my dress again yesterday 🙂 but don’t let the doubt influence you, it’s temporary . That style of dress fits you very well. Once you get it fitted properly on the shoulders by a seamstress, and you jack it up with wedding hairstyle, jewelery, etc, you’ll love it again. It’s honestly a stunning dress.
PS – I purchased my dress my first time shopping too. Had the Aha moment, but then looked at my pictures and lost the Aha…. UNTIL, I tried it on again with the veil etc. I think it’s a pretty normal reaction. Look up “dress doubt disorder” in Weddingbee .

i think it s a beautiful dress, the only thing is the straps nd the top look a little too big or something, I think it just needs to be altered on top to fit you! once thats done i think you will realize that you are in love with that dress! also get the right undergarments, it makes a huge difference in how you feel!

@GroovyHippieChick: Completely agree!
Once its fitted to you, that dress is going to look absolutely amazing!

I think it’s really flattering on you. It gets my vote.

Thanks everyone! Now to find a longline strapless pushup bra in a 42D, a crinoline in a 2xl, and a seamstress in the Albany area.
I fell in love with the fact that it is different – all the Maggie dresses are beautiful, but what I love is that it’s not the same – my Ering is different than most too (yellow gold, 17 rounds totalling 1/2 carat) – maybe that’s where some of my doubts are from – I don’t have the 2012 classic look.

I think it’s gorgeous. Get the dress altered to your body. I’m sure once it fits properly, you’ll feel the aha moment again.

Check Davids Bridal for your bra and crinoline, that’s where I bought mine. They have tons of options and they can find what works best for you.
I think it’s beautiful, the only thing that stuck out to me was what Future Mrs K mentioned about the straps, once those are fitted it will look even better!
