I purchased my dress about two weeks ago but am now having major anxiety if I made the right choice!!
Here it is in two different lights (and a few sizes too large):
I loved it when I tried it on, but am now unsure! I was NOT on the hunt for a lace dress at all and am nervous I might have been swayed by the friends I went shopping with (who were pushing for lace over ruffles, which I had originally wanted). I am pretty untraditional, so I DO like that the neckline is different. I’m only 5’2″ though so I don’t know if the higher neckline makes me look even shorter. I was okay with some lace details, but don’t know how I feel about the lace all over – do I look like a tablecloth or a big doily??
I also tend to like more “edgy” things and our ceremony/reception is going to be on the more fun/informal side (not in a church, want it to be a big party) – so I don’t want to wear a dress that seems more…prim? Old-fashioned?
This is the style I was originally going for – mermaid with ruffles (would have modified the neckline):
And just for comparison’s sake, this is another dress that I liked that had some lace details but not all over:
What do you think?? I don’t want to look too traditional or tablecloth-y on my big day! I need some reassurance so that I won’t go crazy for the next five months until my dress arrives…Thanks for any insight, bees!

I LOVE your first dress. The other two look great on you but I’ve seen a ton brides in them. I think the first one is unique and looks beautiful on you. I love the neckline.
Your dress so does not look like any doily I’ve seen…evah

Stop it! Seriously. Gorgeous. And all the things @HisIrishPrincess said.

You look beautiful, but you need to get the dress for YOU, not your friends! The third one is absolutely gorgeous! If it’s more you, go & get it! Nobody should have to convince you to keep a dress that you really aren’t 100% happy with.

You’re dress is gorgeous! The others are more generic looking and don’t even come close to your dress! Stop worrying!!

you look amazing in all 3, love your original dress, stop looking.

I vote your original dress!!! It’s seriously awesome on you. I mean yes, all three do look great on you (pretty sure you’d look good in anything!!!) but I love the uniqueness of the neckline on your original dress!!

I absolutely love that dress on you! It is gorgeous!! I’m 4’11” so I had concerns about what would make me look shorter too. I actually find the high neck lengthening. It may feel a little high to you in the chest but it’s actually very lengthening for the whole body. I tried on a few with high necks and they looked horrible on me! But that looks great on you. I gasped a little when I saw it 😉

I think you look great in all three dresses, but I personally like the second best on you. And this is coming from a girl who usually hates ruffles and bought an all-lace dress herself! All three look woooooonderful though, so just pick what you feel happiest in!

That dress is edgy AND classic! It’s so feminine and graceful, but the interesting neckline and the slim fit make it a really “wow” dress. I guarantee none of your guests will have ever seen a dress like it – whereas, I’ve seen the second dress (or that style) so much that I’m really starting to get sick of it. (No offense to brides who have a dress like that, I still think it’s beautiful and SUPER flattering on a lot of women, I just think it’s a bit too popular.) I’d strongly advise that you keep your original dress – you’ll look back in 15 or 20 years and be so glad you had something so unique. Edit: also, once it’s altered and fits you like a glove it’ll take on a whole new light.
With that said, if you’re going to stress about it and be unsure about your choice and can’t get over it, then get what your heart desires! You should feel amazing on your wedding day, without a SHRED of doubt that you’re in the dress you always dreamed of!
