No matter what you do your dress is going to drag and get dirty. There’s no avoiding that. People are going to step on it, you’re likely going to step on it, it’s inevitable. Don’t expect at the end of the night for your dress to be pristine white believe me! LOL! I had one small tear from one of the GM standing my dress (grrr) and the bottom was pretty grey, although not stained too badly. I saw FAR worse ones when I dropped mine off to be cleaned and preserved.

To keep it clean for as long as possible, I spent a lot of time before the ceremony walking around like this:

@Mrs Hedgehog: I just professed this exact worry in another thread! And I wonder how dirty the dress got, andif the cleaners were able to get it all out :/

I’m worried about this too.  I’m getting my dress altered to my 4 1/2 inch heels.  I’m scared what it’s going to look like if I decide to change into flats during the reception. :-/

@Mrs Hedgehog: Awww, I inspired you 😉

ETA- when I clicked on this thread, I must admit I thought it might be about a different kind of “drag”…. haha

I’m scared of the tripping part too. Even with the bustle its going to be in the way!

My feet were killing me during the reception so I kicked off my shoes and was going barefoot quite quickly.  I never felt like I was tripping or stepping on my dress despite it then dragging on the floor (although plenty of other people were stepping on it although that started even before I took off my shoes – including my brother accidently breaking my bustle – oops!)
