no one will remember the dress…

maybe you could add a belt or something?

also it will look completly different on you, you’ll probably have a different hairstyle, etc.

I’m trying to put myself in your position.  If I found out that my cousin wore the exact same dress that I’m planning to wear at my wedding I would be pretty upset.  Would I go buy another dress?  I don’t know.  Like the PP says make-up and hair makes a huge difference so people may not even notice that it’s the same dress.  My advice … take a look at how your cousin looked on the day of her wedding and ROCK IT BETTER !!!

Luckily, you have another 7 months for people to forget, and the only person to notice will be your cousin.  Don’t worry!

In addition to the suggestion about a belt, different accessories, etc.: if it’s a strapless gown, you can make it look completely different by adding a bolero. You can also make certain to choose a different style of veil or headpiece than what your cousin wore.

Can we see a picture of the dress? For people who look at dresses a lot, it might be obvious it is the same dress, but for people who don’t (the typical wedding guest) most dresses are going to look like white dresses, unless this dress had an aspect that specifically made it stand out.

I’d really like to see the dress though. 🙂 (even just a stock photo or the name of the dress, doesn’t have to be the dress on you!)

If anybody does notice and remark on how similar it is to your cousin’s, here is what you say:

“Why yes, Susie did wear a dress that was a lot like mine. You know, I’ve always thought she has excellent taste – I guess I was right!” (And smile sweetly.)

@Future.McGuffee:  I just saw your reply. I’m glad it made you smile! If you love your dress as much as I love mine I would hate to start the dress hunt all over again knowing that I already found *the dress*. Once your all glammed up people are going to be commenting on how gorgeous you look, not comparing your dress to your cousins, trust me! Good luck.
