So if you've seen my prior post, you will know that my sister threw a public forum fit about the bridesmaid dress I picked out. This particular dress cost $175.

Since that point, my younger sister asked to be removed from the bridal party because of the cost (but I expected her to not want to do it, no matter the cost. She's a little self-involved at her 19 years of age, and very boyfriend-oriented, so I'm not too worried about her). Now, a week later, I've had yet another bridesmaid decide she doesn't want to pay that cost, even though she agreed in February to be a bridesmaid. I did not surprise any of them, they all agreed willingly, and I informed them of the price point.

I am getting married in July. I need to quickly find a dress that is UNDER $100, but not cheap looking. I need to be able to find a dress that does not need to be ordered months in advance, because I don't have that kind of time anymore.

Help, Bees. My mind is blanking. I can only think of Sears, JC Penney, and Macy's. What other stores have nice dresses that can function as a BM dress, at the pricepoint I mentioned above? Also, I have a plus-sized BM, I must make sure the dress I ask them to wear can accomodate a full figured lady. Any suggestions? I'm at my wit's end, and am so ready to say, "Screw it, I don't need a bridal party!"

Has anyone else had to deal with this kind of an issue? How did you deal with it, and keep your composure? I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with all the little details that need to come together, and this situation isn't exactly helping my frazzled nerves.  (Mostly because in an unrelated scenario, FI and I are concurrently negotiating a prenuptial agreement, and those are inherently stressful!)

@julies1949: Thanks so much! Hopefully they can "deliver" in a reasonable amount of time.

@JulesSchnooks: I was also going to suggest DB. Do you have one nearby? You might be able to buy their clearance right off the rack and they come in all sizes. Definitely check it out :)

I think Macy's would be a good option for various sizes. There's also coupons out there.

    Maybe White House Black Market.

Ann Taylor is having a 40% off sale

I would just tell them what color the dresses need to be and how formal - then let them pick their own. You can suggest a few options. You can only do so much and it sounds like your getting pushback at the last minute.

Thanks all. I've decided to go with this one. http://www.amazon.com/Strapless-Satin-Formal-Bridesmaid-Holiday/dp/B0006VN9EW/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

At $52.99-- I don't think they can complain too much. (I HOPE!)

@JulesSchnooks: cute! Hopefully they will fit. That's a good style for most shapes. I was going to recommend convertible dresses (sold by tons of different sources). The ones I'm using are 100, but the dress maker is on maternity leave until August so that doesn't help you.

@pinkandsparkly: My first dress actually WAS a convertible dress, made by the Dessy group. I loved it, but my ladies felt differently (about price).

I've seen some by Victoria's secret that are cute, but the shades they offered would not match the wedding at all, and I could not find any more that were reasonably priced.

Really, at this point, I'm at my wit's end re-doing details that I thought were done. I just want this decision over with, and this dress seems like it'll hide any flaw the ladies are self conscious about. If not, well, at least it's cheap. :)
