- Wedding: May 2010
Hey! I got married last May and I was just thinking today about what I should do with my old wedding dress (my parents are holding onto it because I have nowhere to keep it in my apartment). I was thinking about maybe dying it and having it professionally tailored into a shorter, more casual dress that I can wear to other formal events. Since I never plan to wear the dress again in it’s current state, it’s not a HUGE deal if it gets destroyed in the process. I just want to know how to go about doing this.
The dress is made of chiffon and has beaded lace, which is the part I’m most concerned about not working. The lace, though, is actually on a separate layer, so I’m also wondering if it would be possible to leave that layer white and just dye the part underneath. Though if it’s possible to dye the whole thing, I’d rather do that. =P
Anyone have any suggestions?
