I need some major help with dress fabric selection.. It has been blowing my mind for the last few days, need some opinons.
My wedding is May 25, 2014.. I have already ordered my dress, which is white satin and simple.
My maid of honor also my sister, has ordered her dress already in chiffon fabric..
The bridesmaids are going to wear the same dress in chiffon in a different color..
First question, is the teal too dark for a May 25 wedding??
The colors look beautiful together, I love the teal, Fiance thinks its too dark since he has seen the color in satin, which is obivously darker than a chiffon.
Now, for the moms dresses..
I assume for purposes of posed pictures, my mother’s dress color should match my sister who is my maid of honor so they wouldnt clash…? Now, should the fabric also be the same? Would it look weird if my mother decided to go with a satin fabric rather than a chiffon…?
Fiance mom has chosen a chiffon fabric top and skirt..
Any helpful opnions would be lovely.. Thanks!

@junebaby510: You can have any colors you want for your wedding.
The mothers do not need to match the bridal party. It is nice if they wear a color that looks good with the bridesmaids dresses for pics, but it needn’t be the same color.
Your Mom could wear champagne, taupe , dusty rose, paler blue etc etc – anything of her choosing.

@julies1949: Thanks! Our wedding is outside so Fiance is thinking teal will be too dark for a spring time wedding. Since he said it, its gotten me thinking just becasue his opinon does matter too!
My mom was going to go with a lightish blue green color for her dress and Fiance mom picked a darker blue, both colors do indeed match the bridal party, I am just concerned with the fabrics if they should be the same or not..

@junebaby510: Fabrics need not be the same. The moms can wear whatever they like and what makes them feel good.

It’s not the issue of whether it’s too DARK for a season, it’s do they look well together, and imo, they do. Your wedding is at the end of May also, and in June it’s the official beginning of Summer, but some unofficially call it May 31. Close enough for rock and roll in my book.
Think how nice they look together, and think of the harmonizing bouquets that bring both colors together. Nice picture, eh?
As for MOB and MOG, it is not necessary that they match the color of either of the two dresses. Rather, they can do a spin-off shade of either. Perhaps the MOB doing a take-off of the pinkier one and the MOG the other shade. Harmonization is key.
