ok, I”ve posted this about a million times but for all the girst that were worried that alterations wouldn’t make their dress possible , here it goes again.
I ordered my Jim Hjelm back in Novemeber 2012 (or something). I had just given birth to my baby 3 months prior and was still breast feeding. When I tried the sample on, I was like a sausage squeezed into a size 10 casing
the sales ladies refused to let me orde the size I wanted. They kept saying “all brides think they will lose weight but they usually don’t” so i had to fight JUST to convince them to order me an 8. Anyways, dress comes in and here’s what it looks like
til your head to the left and you can see how huge this thing is on me.. i mean c’mon! I was so upset that they had left me with this gown that now needed upwaurds of a $1000 in alterations that i just took in and left and said I’d find someone on my own.
Well i did! it has taken her a total of 27 hours so far, and right now the buister part of the dress is not connected to the skirt. the sequin over lay is only pinned to the buistier and the whole thing has me pinned in it, but it is finally starting to look like a dress i like again! I cried tears of joy.
I changed the beaded trim from the original too. What do you guys thinki?

I had a similar issue with my dress, it was a corset back and they ordered me a 10 “because that was what the book said” …. and OF COURSE, i’d never lose the weight I said i would… fast forward to a month before the wedding and they were taking in 4 inches off each side because even with the corset it was way too big.
glad it is working out for you, you will make a gorgeous bride =)

Always thought you looked gorgeous, regardless of dress size/weight…but now it fits beautifully. I really like the wider belt too. And that bracelet…adore! What an incredible ‘something borrowed’!
