Ouf- I see what you mean about the weird pleating. They need to fix that mistake. I really hope it works out!
I am so glad I decided to call early this week and ask about length! They ordered 61" which is wayyy too long but it was early enough to cancel the order and they are going to measure me next Saturday and reorder.
Ugh, that is so unfair to you. This is my fear too when it's time for my first fitting and I'm a Casablanca bride too. Your dress is very beautiful. Is there any way you could send your dress elsewhere for alterations? I know this isn't ideal but from what you've stated, it doesn't seem like the store is very accomodating and easy to work with. I may be wrong though. I hope it works out!

So, I had my first fitting (after my alterations were done) last night and I am so disappointed! I lost some weight and my dress needed to be taken in at the waist, chest, and also it was WAY too long and needed to be shortened considerably. (I truly believe the store ordered the wrong length. I have a Casablanca dress and I know that you can custom order the length of the dress. Mine was clearly the wrong length.) Anyway, so I accepted they had ordered the wrong length and just decided to let them fix their mistake with alterations.
Well it turns out that my dress needed to be raised from the waist because there is lace on the bottom that can not be removed or cut. I went in last night, SO excited to put on my dress actually fitting me for the first time!! Unfortunately...
The dress was STILL too big around the waist and chest.. I honestly think she didn't take in the waist at all. And, the worst part, the section she raised around the waist to shorten the dress, took on this strange pleating all around the dress. The dress is originally smooth and A-line (I will post pictures). Now, it looks rumpled and pleated and unflattering. It also lost some most of the A-line shape..
So, basically, I didn't notice this disaster until I was looking at home pictures of myself in the dress. I immediately called and asked for this to be fixed. They said they would call the seamstress and let me know, but they never called back. So, I called again today and the manager I spoke to assured me that it was just because the dress was not steamed. I KNOW she was not being honest. I could feel the puckering all around the waist of the dress.. So, she said the seamstress would fix it and I could try it on again on Tuesday. I'm just worried it is going to become more of a disaster that is already is.. I feel like it doesn't even look like the same dress! What do you all think?
This is what the dress looked like before any alterations when it had just come in!
