Finally finally finally I got to see my alterations to my dress in an almost complete form 🙂 For this fitting all the seams etc were pinned, nothing was sewn, so it wasn’t totally there but as good as. The seamstress who is making my gown (the boutique is a historic ex-warehouse building, with salon/showroom downstairs & the gowns made upstairs, as well as fittings etc – so you get to deal with the woman who’s making it right from scratch) pinned everything in tight so it will fit perfectly. It was really exciting because I’d never seen the gown with a sweetheart and I was really nervous as to whether I’d made the right choice but I was really happy. And it was awesome to see all the layers that go into it too – and to see it fresh and white rather than a grubby sample 😀
My main concern was that instead of taking off weight as I’d hoped some recent health issues have sent it in the other direction, so I was really stressed about the fit. She was so reassuring and in the end I didn’t need to worry because she could pin to the original seams from the measurements taken last year. I don’t think the shape is as ideal as it was when I first tried it on in May when I was about 8kg/20lbs lighter, if I had my time again I’d probably pick something a little more forgiving, but I still love it and i was in tears and my mum was in tears so it can’t be too bad 😛 And the lace is absolutely gorgeous.
Mum forgot to get full length front photos though! Only the distorted mirror image 😛
