I love your dress, I've seen it around the Bee :)! I hope you get it all figured out and that theres a backup plan just in case!! So beautiful!
@misschickpea: Well, the backup plan is alterations I suppose! The bridal salon is letting the designer know what was wrong with it, so hopefully it was just a problem with the dress they sent out for me and the next one will be ok!
have you got a pic of your fitting? it would be interesting to see the two together
the knot on your hip seems to be even with your thumb in both pics..I honestly dont see the diffrence! I think its beautiful on you! :)
sometimes when you are going back to pay the dress off you notice all the little things you never saw!
I'm just glad the shop is so willing to work with you. I think bith the sample and the one you ordered look stunning - but getting exactly what you want is key.
@Miss Sardine: I know. We kind of figured out that it's not so much the knot that's in a different spot but the ruching surrounding it. The seamstress said the same thing as you at first, but measured from my ear down and the dress in my size definitely has different proportions. She couldn't argue with her measurements :)
@tjudd23: Thank-you!
@atalante: Thanks so do I!
@Ivorybuttons: So am I, I'm really impressed with them. They were even willing to switch out the dress if I wasn't sure I still loved it. I told them no way, I love this dress I just want it to fit properly :) I'm glad to hear that people still think it looks good either way though just in case it doesn't come back different...
I just had a bit of an alterations nightmare and had to scratch and claw with the manager to get a new dress ordered - I'm jealous you had such an easy time getting the reorder!
FWIW, you look gorgeous. It's a beautiful dress - but I'm glad you're getting what you want!
I'm so glad that they're doing the right thing and getting you another dress. Try to relax and not panic. I'm sure it will come out beautifully! And you're right--the back is stunning! I seriously lost my breath when I saw that picture.
that dress is gorgeous, and I agree that the way the sample fits at your torso and hips looks better! At least you have time to fix it and the shop is helping out! I had a similar to a replica dress I bought but it was the other way around, the dress was supposed to fit snugly low into my hips to look like a mermaid style, but actually started flaring out like an A-line . It didn't give me any shape at all.
I hope it works out!
@merenguito: Glad to hear that this has happened to someone else and it worked out! I'm sure it will be okay :)
I'll let you guys know!
@KristenGotMarried: Thanks! I hope your dress comes in right too!
@Eva Peron: Thank-you :)
@parasol: Thanks!

Well I had my first dress fitting on Monday. It was more of an appointment to try the dress on, make sure everything was ok with it, and pay for it.
Some of you might recognize my dress because I post it pretty much anywhere I can
As soon as I put the dress on and came out, I was like "blah"...I didn't look good at all. I couldn't figure it out, because I loved it in the sample size and that was way too big! My mom and sister agreed, something was off.
I felt like I was in an episode of Say Yes to the Dress where the seamstress is saying "Nothing is wrong with it" and I was saying "It's just not right". She tried lots of things, maybe I just don't remember the sample, maybe I'm not in love with the dress anymore, maybe it was clipped weird when I tried the sample on.
Finally, my sister pulled up this photo of me in the sample (the photo above) on her phone and then it was totally noticeable! The whole bottom part of the dress was lower. The proportions were totally different. You can see where the knot thing is kind of on my lower hip and then the ruching ends around my fingertips in the sample...all of that was 2-3 inches lower on my actual dress. It made the dress look totally different and made me look short and stubby (in my opinion). Finally after seeing the pic and even just holding my dress up against the sample dress, you can totally see the difference.
You can tell the ruching comes way lower and just looks droopy and blah! I am pretty happy with how the back looks though (it also needs to end a bit higher); I couldn't see the back before because it was so big and all clipped together:
They're sending it back to the designer and re-ordering it. If it comes in the same way again, the alterations lady showed me how she can alter it to look like it does above, but I hope that's not the case.
Sorry this was long... but my point is go with your gut and take photos of you in the sample dress! I knew something was wrong!! And I'm so glad I ordered my dress so far in advance!!
