I went in for my 2nd dress fitting yesterday. Leading up to the appointment, I was sooo excited. The lady in the alterations department was amazing, and really focused on what I wanted for the entire hour long appointment, and even gave me advice on veils. So I get to my 2nd appointment, put my dress on and a different alterations lady comes in.
First of all, the dress is too tight. I don’t know how to put pic from phone online to show 🙁 but it is a fit n flare. As I am ery mall up top, I had a little taken in along my thigh area to how more definition. Well, it is SOOO freaking tight! My slip fits the same, so I know I didn’t get any bigger (nor have I gained a pound). This is disappointing, but oh well, off to diet land I go.
Secondly, the belt has a detail at the waist, and I feel the detail is crooked. I am short, so I had to belt raised to my natural waist, and now it def. looks crooked to me. Instead of TALKING TO ME the new lady completley dismissed my concern and told me “we lay it flat and where it goes is where it goes.” What the hell does that even mean?!?!?
Thirdly, the top is rouched, and one side is bagy. When I point this out to the new alteration lady, she assures me “the fabric is prt of the pleat” Yes, I know that…I want it to be taken in along the seam bcause it is baggy. Well, she won’t do that, so she decided to tack it down -wait for it—-10 days before the wedding, steam it, and have me pick it up. WHAT!?!?!
Yeah, that is so not happening. I told her assistant I want it to be tacked down and I will come back to check it out BEFORE I pick it up to take home. Then the alteration lady comes in and tells me, NO, you need to take your dress home today, we can’t hold it until your wedding. (Yeah, I know), I tell her what I told the assistant, and she looks at me like I’m crazy. She says “well, I can do it right now, just go do some thing until it’s ready.” I told her I had only allotted 1 hour for the appointment and I had to leave on time because I had someplace to be (my daughter’s play at school which I REFUSE to be late to). Ugh, this lady really went up my ass sidweways because then she gives me an attitude and says “well, that’s the store policy…” I told her to tack it down, and I would pick it up next week.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that all comes back well, or that I can at least deal with the first lady I had
Sorry this is so long, it has been bothering me and I neede to get it out. Thanks for following (if you made it this far!) LOL
