Personally, I don’t think you should care about what dress fits your “body type.”  Just try on a bunch of different ones and you’ll figure out what you like.  =)  I kinda broke a bunch of rules when I got mine, and I don’t care.  I think it’s beautiful.

As for dresses, under 1k, I think you’ll be able to find a lot.  =) Alfred Angelo has a lot of dresses you can look at online.  You can also try sample sales and off the rack dresses. They say you shouldn’t try on dresses over your budget, but I tried on a beautfiul Maggie Sottero dress and it was double my budget.  Long story short, I started scoping out sample sales wherever I could. AFter 3 whole months, I  actually managed to score a Maggie Sottero Talese for $530 including alterations and bustle. =)  If you find something you like, you just gotta work hard and take the time to look for it.  I think you might be able to find it for your budget.  =)

Edit:  I’m 5 ft 2 in.  and this is my dress. http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=A3536

My dress is similar to those you posted and it was $900.  It’s Mori Lee 4164.

I absolutely love the Casablanca! I’m pretty biased though, since that’s my dress 🙂 It looks really good on you. The great thing about Casablanca is that they’ll custom make the dress to your size and length. They even made mine a sweetheart neckline for very little extra cost.

Have you tried any of the Vera Wang White dresses at David’s Bridal?  I’m 5’1, and I tried on all of her dresses the first season she debuted at DB.  They’re also all under 1k.  There were a few that I really liked, but I only have a picture of myself in one of the dresses.
