I wouldn't do it just because my dress needed so many alterations to fit me perfectly. Also, at the end of the day my dress was so trashed (I stepped on it and tore a hole, which caused a run, even before walking down the aisle...oops. Also..GRASS STAINS!) and my photographer said its pretty common for most brides to stain or tear their gowns. I am guessing if you rented it you would be liable for the cost of the gown if you were to damage it.
@Dolldancer8: I share the same thought! I wouldn't have a problem renting a dress as long as I love it. The best part of renting is the money saving factor!!! Did you ever find out where your friend's cousin rented hers???

A friend of mine said that her cousin was able to wear a top of the line $25,000 gown because she rented it for around $500...WHERE do I SIGN UP?!?!?! Has anyone heard of this??? Is it worth it to not have your dress forever but to be able to spend a day in a designer gown...what would I do with my dress anyways???
