I was thinking about buying a dress for the shower but then I had a hard time justifying spending $100-$150 on something I won't wear long-term - especially with all the baby stuff we still need!

So I went shopping in my closet. I found three options that I think could work but I'm not sure which one to wear (I don't know what shoes I'll wear yet).

Option 1: Tiered ruffle patterned dress

Pros: It distracts from the bump and it's totally fun.
Cons: It's a little bit short (not that that's stopped me before) and do I really want to wear something that hides the bump to my baby shower?

    Option 2: Purple sun dress

Pros: It long enough, it's really comfortable
Cons: It's a little bit boring and it's church appropriate - so it might be better to wear for Easter

    Option 3: Fitted teal dress

Pros: I love this color (makes me look more tan) PLUS the shower has a teal and brown theme to it so I'd totally match.
Cons: It's definintely shows the bump (and my bellybutton) - but then again that's why everyone is coming so should I put it on display?

i love 1, but it's REALLY short for an event that includes family. plus i have a feeling you'd end up showing the goods while you're sitting.

#2 is perfect for easter. i would go with #3 for the shower (that color really does look great on you) and put a cardigan over it to dress it down a little bit.

Wow, you look fantastic in that teal dress!  I say, if you got it, flaunt it!

I love the tiered dress.  My only hesitation would be getting 10000000 comments about how your bump is too tiny, the dress hides it really well.

The teal is great too and definately celebrates pregnancy curves.   Women love seeing a bump so I think that's my vote.

    this is my honest opinion

#1 is cute and sexy but too short could you wear skinny jeans with that?

#2 is a good length and fit but a bit plain

#3 is bit too sexy and dressed up for a baby shower IMO [maybe I'm too conservative]

@bells: I kind of thought about adding navy leggings underneath it - might be a good solution if I wear that one. #3 is maybe a little bit dressy but I'm ALWAYS over-dressed.

I love the look of 1 and think with crop leggings might be super cute but I don't like that it hides your bump!

2 is a little blah and more Easter appropiate.

I like that 3 shows your bump AND matches the shower theme! Agree with throwing on a cardigan, shrug or pashmina wrap something.

A cute pair of flip flops would totally dress it down if you're concerned.

You look fantastic in all three.  My only recommendation is to make sure you're crossing your legs when you're opening presents -- I forgot sometimes and I have some pictures that look unmodest (although don't actually show the goods).  :-)

I actually like the 2nd one best. I think the first is too short and the 3rd too dressy. But I saw you just commented that you are always dressed up, so then I would wear the 3rd one!

Wow, you look awesome! It seems like the first and third fit your personality the best - the second is a good, simple, traditional shower dress, but maybe not enough for you! First dress is great with leggings, but this pic does hide the bump a bit.  the third one looks great but seems like a lot for a shower...take some pics of yourself sitting down because people will take a lot of you sitting opening presents :)

I love the third dress. You look AMAZING! And I love the color. I think it's dressy, but it is YOUR shower so I think it's normal for you to be a little more dressed up. Plus, the wedges dress it down a tiny bit, in a good way. It would be more dressy with pumps.

You look amazing!  Id go #3 with a cardigan.  1 is cute with leggings, but hides the bump.  2 is more easter appropriate.  Its a little "church-y" for a baby shower IMO.  3 is HOT!  And I love the color =o)

I really like #3 and how it shows off your bump! But maybe with a cardigan or cute jacket over it?

You look amazing in that teal number!

Just about every baby shower I've been to, the to-be-moms are always wearing something like #2, and I always wonder why they didn't want to stand out more. I think you'll be happiest looking back at pictures and seeing what a hot mama you were during your pregnancy, especially since I have read your blog in the past in it does seem you like a little glam in your life!

@bree72:I think there is an easy answer to that - because most of us didn't look like Camrie when we were pregnant!   She looks hot, but man I felt anything but sexy by that point in my pregnancy so I personally went a bit more of the #2 route :)

I love #1. I have tree-trunks for legs and can't wear anything above the knee lol. However, for a baby shower? I love #3.

You ROCK that bumb, sister!!!  EVERYONE coming to the shower will want to see it.  My cousin had a shower a few months ago and "hid" her bump.  Everyone commented on how sad they were not to see it and she ended up changing!  lol.

Thanks for all the nice comments!

I really like #3 because it's definitely about standing out but I wasn't sure if I was brave enough to wear it (even though it's totally my normal "non-pregnant" style). I guess I might as well embrace the bump and show it off. :) Definitely may add a cardigan to dress it down a bit.

I'm going to go against the tide and say I actually like 2 the best and think it is totally shower appropriate. I also really like #1 but it is waayy short...you might have some trouble sitting in it. #3 is cute and looks good on you but I just don't really like it for a shower. My vote would be number 2.

definitely embrace the bump and show it off in #3. I'm sure you will look fantastic in anything you sport; however, of the 3, I personally like #3. It's cute and totally appropriate, IMO.   Love the necklace too, or even a longer white necklace and some bangles!

@camrie: I agree #3 but either wear a sweater or more casual shoes to dress it down some.

    Have fun at your shower!
