Whats your opinion on a dress to wear for the reception only? I was thinking about it, and its going to be very, very hot outside when we are getting married and I love my dress, I'm just afraid I'll start to sweat and get uncomfortable once I'm on the dance floor at the reception. Anybody have any cute "back up" dresses or ideas for back up dresses? (I'll probably wear my wedding dress as long as possible, but I'd like to know i have another cute dress just in case!)

I know there are lots of brides who do that... but I personally felt like I only get to wear my dress once, and darnit - I wanted to wear it as long as possible!! :)  AFTER the reception I changed into a white cocktail dress (actually my moms wedding dress) for the after party. Best of both worlds!

Many brides have done that.  My wedding was indoors so I was able to wear my wedding dress all night.  But some people buy two dresses or a cuter, shorter dress for the reception after all the formalities of the reception are done (first dance, cake cutting, etc... ).  Then you can boogie in a more comfortable dress.  :)

I definitely plan on getting a back-up, reception dress.  I may choose not to wear it - I do want to stay in my wedding dress as long as possible...but 1) I want to have an option; 2) when else would I be able to splurge on two (or more) white dresses???  ;)

The practical side of me IS voicing that the reception dress should be re-wearable for other occasions.  :)
