So I just received my dress that I ordered online and our wedding isn’t until June.
Do I hang it now? Also what is the traditions with the groom seeing the dress? I just thought it was the groom not seeing the bride the day of the wedding until the ceremony and not seeing the bride in the dress at all until the ceremony. According to tradition is it okay for him to see the dress?
We will be moving next month but as of now we are very smashed together into one room and there is no way I could hang it without him seeing it. Once we move in the beginning of May I will have a closet that he will probably never go in so that wouldn’t be a problem.
Thanks in advance.

@Tiffylove: I don’t know that it’s a rule or anything, but many brides like to keep their dress a secret from the groom. However, many couples are doing ‘first looks’ now, where you take photos before the ceremony to have more time with guests. Also, if he does go peeking (it should be in a garment bag, so he’d have to try to look) it won’t be the same as if you were wearing it, so not a huge deal.
One idea would be to check with the shop you’re ordering from or doing your alterations at. Mine held my gown for me for an entire year for only $1/month! Then it was safe from any pets or cooking smells. You could also see if there are any relatives or friends that you trust to hold it for you.

Thank you for responding. I heard something so many conflicting ideas about the gown and the groom.
I will be doing my best to keep him from seeing it.
Thank you again.

The groom is not meant to see your dress at all until your wedding day. Can your mum or a friend store the dress for you?
