I, like most of you, want to look like a Princess on my wedding day! I always thought I would get pickups and everything. I tried on a dress with some and it looked pretty good except it was kinda plain. I also tried on a beige dress from Davids Bridal that I absolutely loved but I want to wear white. They make it in white but I dont think it would look as pretty. I am plus size (size 20). I plan to lose weight before I buy a dress in a few months but just to be safe, I would like to know what kind of dress compliments my figure more. Here are a few pics I took when trying on dresses. Can you give me some advice? :)

I LOVE Dress #1 and dress #2. Dress #3 my best friend loves but not really me and I think makes me look big (then again we are our worst critics). Dress #4 and #5 are okay. #5 is pretty but reminds me too much of a prom dress.

Sorry, I'm not sure which dress is which in your poll.  I like the second dress but without the sash.  I think the sash is cutting you in half, and it would highlight your silhouette better without it.

The last photo is most flattering/slimming in my opinion. But I also hate pickups...

    I agree with your friend!

I think if #3 fit you properly up top and you added crinoline to the bottom it would look AMAZING on you!

But I also like #5 too! But would add a small crinoline to that one too!

The last dress is by far the most flattering. You waist is clearly defined and it doesn't add pouf on top of your hips. A few things I noticed when trying on dresses: white satin is not slimming, and if the dress stays close to your hips rather than poufing out from the waist it makes your hips look smaller.

Either or the 2nd or the last one -- they make you look much smaller than the other pictures.

I really think the last one suits your body type the best.... If you think it is too "prom-y" you could look at similar dress styles.

Thanks for the advice girls!!! I really like #2 and like I said it is available in white but David's Bridal says that they dont have a white version in store. You would have to purchase it and I am scared that I will purchase it and not like it.

OMG look how tiny your waist looks in the first one! I don't think it's even a contest, I can't believe #1's not in the lead.

I really like you in the second one and the last one is really flattering on you!  In the end you have to go with what makes you feel amazing.  Believe me, you will get 'that feeling' when you put it on.  I tried on over 100 before I found my Enzoani Blue!

Just wanted to show you what the back of #2 looks like. The bow is really long which I thought was quite pretty

I am a huge fan of the last one - honestly, you look thinner, with a more defined waist in that one than any other - the silhouette is very flattering.

I get the feeling you prefer #2, because you posted the back too....honestly, who cares what we think, go with what you LOVE! When I bought my second dress, I didn't care what anyone else thought because I was so in love with it - even when some people said they preferred my original dress. So go with your gut! You won't regret it.

One more thing...I see you are getting married in about a year...I'd say hold of on buying the dress! Don't buy it too early, then you'll have too much time to change your mind!

#1 for sure. Makes you look two sizes smaller. I don't like #5 at all.

Thought you said you loved #1 and #2 the most? It's nice to get opinions but in the end you should go with what you love.

I like them all but what it sounds like from YOU is what you love #1 and #2.  Don't buy a dress if you don't love it bc you'll regret it and could end up a two-dress bride! Out of 1 and 2, I prefer the second but that's just me!

I agree with Jelly.  I waited until about 6 months before to get a dress.  I was losing weight, and searching online.  At 6 months I bought a dress in a fit n' flare - not a shape that I thought would look good on me.

After ordering the dress to fit my largest measurement & another few months of weight loss, My seamstress had to take it in 3+ sizes, which caused some issues with the shape.  I'd wait a while to find the dress if you have a year.  Your shape may change, and you might find that you like the way you look in another dress the best.  And while seamstresses can make miracles happen, it's better to have a dress that is close to fitting you when they start.

I think #5 is the most flattering cut on you.  But I think what is making the difference is the sweetheart neckline & the roushing at the waist.  Dress number 2 could probably be modified into a slight sweetheart, which will make the top less harsh.

Keep the photos, go back in 3 or 4 months & see what you like better then.. just my opinon.

I LOVE dress number two on you!  It's so soft and feminine!  Dress five is also gorgeous!  I like dress one, but the top looks too "stiff" to me.  You look beautiful though!

I agree with Trailmix - definitely get the dress you're happiest with!  And also like her, out of 1 and 2 I really like number 2.  They all look good though (and they'd look even better once the dress was tailored to fit you better - some of them look too big...)

    Good luck deciding!

So.....I tried on dresses with pick ups and I just lovvvvvvvved this one but all my sisters were against pickups.  Looking back I still like the way the dress looked on me but I do think pick ups put a bit of bulk on the bottom that kinda is a bit off.  But.....I do really like the way #1 defines your waist so much before going down to the pickups,  it really accentuates your hourglass shape instead of just being random bulk on the bottom.

The last dress looks absolutely stunning on you!!  Number 1 also really defines your waist but the bottem half of the dress doesn't do a lot for you.  Numbers 2, 3, and 4 don't show off you shape and/or curves very well in my opinion.

I like the second one best. It looks beautiful on you and you look so happy in it. I like the fabric, the color, the fit, and the style (including the sash). I don't think you need to lose any weight, nor are you plus-sized! You would look beautiful getting married tomorrow. Especially in dress #2!
