@cranraspberry:  honestly, I don’t really see ‘pear’ when I look at your pictures. You look like you could pull off lots of different styles. Maybe a soft A-line?

I googled ‘best wedding dress for your body type’ and got this: http://www.realsimple.com/weddings/dress-attire/wedding-dresses-how-to-choose-perfect-dress-for-your-body-type-10000001706135/index.html, which has some advice on what might look good for certain body types, as well as specific dress examples in each category.

maybe something with this silhouette?

@cranraspberry:  Im not really good at matching dress to body type but have you tried Madeleines Daughter? I don’t personally love them but they are a store who does the work for you. They’ll pull dresses they think will look good (with your direction of course) but theyre not afraid to bring in some different things you wouldn’t normally think of.

I don’t really see a pear shape at all girl! But we are all our own worst critics- I say I have huge hips all the time but in reality they probably are the same size as your non-pears! I’m also an A-cup and I don’t know if it’s your style but I went with a tea-length dress and it looked great! I chose the style because I didn’t want to be hot/sweaty, knew I’d never get cleavage so didn’t want to bother even trying, and didn’t want alot of extra frills and stuff. If your worried about your hips then a dress like this would cover them up without making you feel poofy- I tried on a few ballgowns & hated every single one!

I wore a drop-waist ballgown! I loved the princess/form-fitting combo!

What are your measurements? I am a ‘skinny pear’ (34-27-38) and I have just about settled on the Enzoani Dakota (which is a lace trumpet coincidentally enough)! However I have found most dresses work pretty well on me since I am tall and relatively thin. You can also boost the bust area with something like a Nubra if you want more of an hourglass shape.

@cranraspberry:  I’m a petite pear like you and went with a fitted sheath dress style. Because our body types aren’t common and we generally don’t conform to typical dress measurements it took a TON of fittings and quite a bit of heartache and worry. So my advice would be to try a soft a line like the first poster suggested. A very fitted trumpet or sheath may end up being costly and time consuming to alter.

Good luck! You’re a lovely girl and you’ll be a stunning bride!
