Can I ask the fabulous hive a favor? I had my second dress shopping experience today and would love some input on dresses. Unfortunately, most of the places were completely strict about the no pictures policy... but I was able to get a couple.
I think if you just click on my name it takes you to my blog, but just in case, here is the address:
All the dresses are beautiful, and you look beautiful in the photos, sexy doctor lady! How can they have a no photos policy? You have to have photos to help you decide.
Personally, I am not a big fan of beads on dresses, but I love dresses that have gathering, or layers, like several of the dresses you picked. My personal favorite is the dress from your first shopping experience (Betina). If I weren't being super frugal and decided to buy my dream dress, this might be it. I love the straps, the gathering, and the low back is super sexxy, and the train is fabulous. I am not sure how you would manage the train for the reception but i am sure a seamstress could make a very nice bustle.
Its really hard to tell without seeing the dress on you. From the images you posted I like the Betina best as well from a style point of view but it might not be the best on YOU . But to be really unhelpful my favorite is actually that Tia from your first trip that fell off your list. http://pirateandapear.blogspot.com/2008/08/photos-of-zoliepup-in-some-dresses.html
I think its slimming to your waist and makes your decolletage look very beautiful.
I love love the Agusta Jones Betina dress! It is one of my favorites, but I have not tried it on. I also like the destination-looking one, but I always like the light and airy ones because of how comfortable they are. I would say the first one is my least favorite, but it is all a matter of personal taste!
I agree...it's very hard to decide when you don't have pictures of yourself in it. I took a bunch of pictures of dresses I tried on and am so glad I did! In the salon, they all looked nice to me but when I was able to compare and contrast, I saw how some gowns made me look WIDE and BIG! No no to those gowns! If the salon doesn't allow you to take pictures, they're doing themselves a disservice and you may want to go to a different salon.
I love the Betina. Very classic - there is no way you will be wondering what you were thinking when you look back at your photos. And I think that the draping will make you look wonderful and curvy. Are you thinking about white or a sort of diamond white, as I notice you have photos of dresses in both colors...
Thanks everyone for the input! Betina has been a favorite since the first shopping trip, for sure.
I'm so sorry that I don't have pictures of me in the dresses. At the first place they were definitely watching me like a hawk. I'll see what I can do to get images of me in the dresses.
Suzanno- I was thinking that Ivory might look more natural in the outdoors, so I was leaning that way. I'm usually pretty dark in the summer, so I could probably pull off the white, but I think the Ivory is a little softer.
Bellenga- Were you talking about the Mori Lee? I saw pics of it on another bride and she looked stunning in it. I'm sort of in between the sample size and the size below, so I worry that it wouldn't fit quite right if I lose any weight... so that is something to consider. Good to hear that there are more medical chicks here... that warms my heart!
Dr B.- I'm planning on changing into a vintage 1940's dress for the dancing, so I'm not too worried about bustling etc. (We're going to surprise our guests with a Lindy Hop swing dance and we're going all out with the music, outfits etc) Are you another Doctorchick?
2 more stores tomorrow. I'll work really hard to get pics.
