it looks GORGEOUS on you!!

Go look at it… if you have something on paper saying you ordered it in white than take that with you… if you see it and aren’t sure if it is white or ivory ask to see a white dress and hold it up against yours… you will know instantly whether it is ivory or not…

if they ordered the wrong colour they should fix it!

talk to them about it… just be honest about what you thought you ordered and say you didnt realize until now what the reciept said…

the good thing is davids bridal has pretty much every dress in stock in multiple styles.. so it isnt like yours way made to order kinda thing and why it came in so fast… exchanging it for a different colour should to pretty simple…

also as a side note… ivory has multiple different shades.. is can a be very warm and “darker” shade or quite light and crisp — similar to white… so it could be possible that you tried an ivory one on to start and just didnt realize because it was a light crisp coloured ivory… just a fyi kinda thing! 🙂

@Laurenplusalex:  hopefully they will be nice about it, but you knew they ordered it in ivory and don’t have anything in writing saying you tried it on in white.  maybe what you tried on was ivory?

I agree – if they ordered the wrong color, it’s on them to remedy the situation.  Hopefully you have your original receipt?

And I.LOVE.THAT.DRESS!!!!

@Laurenplusalex:  talk to them! the one thing playing in your favor, like i said, is that davids bridal already has all of their dresses in all of the sizes in stock in a central wearhouse.. they are not made to order dresses like other boutiques… so in that sense it makes doing an exchange pretty easy!

just be super sweet… admit your mistake for not looking at the reciept.. essentially smooze away and hopefully they will be willing to help you out!

i do have to admit that more I look at your picture the more I think that dress is an ivory shade and not actually a true white… Either way.. you will look beyond stunning on your wedding day so dont let it stress you out too much! 🙂

I work at a David’s Bridal and they’re pretty good about doing exchanges as long as it’s the same dress.  They’ll normally do it if there is a sizing issue (you gained/lost a significant amount of weight) or if you change your mind on the color of a wedding gown.  Often times when we only have a style in one color, we often will encourage the bride to buy the dress in the color she wanted and if it comes in and she hates it, we can exchange it for the color she tried on.  They probably should have made it clear that you were wearing an ivory gown and made sure that’s what you wanted.  So even if you did have it on in ivory and even if they ordered it in ivory, they probably will still let you exchange it out for white if that’s what you want.  I know that my manager wouldn’t have any problem with it, but I can’t speak for ALL David’s Bridals in the country.  They are pretty customer service oriented though… so I can’t see it being different from store to store.
