I went in for my final fitting and the front of my dress touches the floor...with about half an inch dragging on the floor. Is that too long? Is it suppose to touch the floor? My seamtress told me it should. But I not sure if it's because they don't want to fix it. My heels are already 4 inches tall and I can't wear shoes any taller. What do you girls thinks?

I think it's too long.  It supposed to be just off the floor (my 1/2-1") so that you can't step on it.

I would tell them to fix it.

Also- just to be sure- when you saw it dragging on the floor, you were standing straight up and not bending over at all to look at it right?

I think it depends on the dress.  I tried on one that touched the floor with a little to spare but fell in a way that stayed away from my feet.  I could still walk without touching the dress so I wasn't going to hem it.

I'd say try walking around in it and if you it's something you have to focus not stepping on have them fix it.

Thanks for the feedback. I went back to try it on again, and it just touches the floor. I guess it looked like it dragged a bit because I was looking down at my toes at the time. LOL. I had the seamstress pinned it 1/2 inch up, and perhaps it was the style of the dress, but I did not like it shorter. So I left the length as it because it does seem to sway nicely when I walked in it. Whew...Dress Length : wedding alterations dress length Icon Razz
